USF is T-19, (+11) after the first round.  The leaders are at +2.

Not horrible, not great.  They are about 5 shots out of the Top 8.  A good day today and it can be done.

Well, after 54 holes the field is cut to 15. That is the place they at least need to be after three rounds and they are only one shot away from that at the moment.

But, you are correct, in the sense that the scores carry over to the fourth round, and the closer USF can be to the top eight, if they make it that far, the less strokes they will have to make up in the final round.

Last year. USF finished sixth in stroke play.

At that point, the teams are then paired based on where they finished in the top eight: One plays eight; two plays seven...etc.

Normally, if we were ahead of #1 Stanford, which we are, it would be  fair to assume we were in good shape. NOT in this tourney. LOL

It will be interesting to see where we end up at the end of the day, because many teams still have to complete their rounds.

Right now we are at +25. The cut to 15 teams will probably be somewhere around +30. So, if we could somehow shoot three over tomorrow, we might have a chance.

Chasing 11 strokes going into the third round. It's going to take a round like Oregon had today to make the top 15.
