USC is the #1 seed and is ranked #1 by Golf week.

They lost to LSU in the finals last year. However, they are coming off a very bad performance at the PAC 12 Championship (5th place).

Arizona State, is the #2 seed. They are the only top 25 team who hasn't won a tourney this spring.

#6 seed NC St could be the sleeper. They  beat us pretty badly recently in a tourney on their HOME course. Of course, they aren't playing at home this time and that could make a world of difference.

Golf Channel morning drive discussed the top teams in New Mexico regional.

This is what they basically said about USF:

Of the top five seeds in this regional, the one that stands out is the Bulls. but they have to go cross country and play on some different grass and climate. However, they are very talented, having won their conference title and three other times this season and made it to the NCAA quarter finals last year.

Why is it always the case that the Bulls have to travel so far away from home for their first round games this year?

Can't deny it's kind of ridiculous. They couldn't have sent us to Alabama or Tennessee? Selection committee appears to be none too bright on this. They could have switched us with nevada, who got assigned to the Alabama region.

They, selection committees, seem to be moving USF as far as possible in tourneys this year.

Last year, USF hosted the NCAA finals at a local course which our team played on very often. So, that was expected to be a big advantage for us. We made it to the final eight but didn't play all that well in the quarter-final against Georgia in match play, when we were the higher ranked team. Georgia had been to the finals before and was probably more comfortable in that setting.

Now, many of the USF players have been through the experience and know what to expect. They will be better prepared.

Going cross country for the regional is ideally not the best thing for a number of obvious reasons. However, I think we might have had more trouble advancing at some of the closer venues. We played both higher seeds, So Cal and Arizona State, in tourneys this season and beat them by many shots.

Here is a USF video on the reaction to the selection by the coach and Koepka.

National bias against USF.  They're intent on making us spend all our money on travel, hoping we bankrupt out of sports altogether.

The NCAA picks up travel expenses for tournament games, so I think they've just decided to bankrupt our rabid fan base that is widely known to travel well.

Our fan base will bankrupt the airlines with all the air miles we earn.

We need this to happen in order to get an OCS and get into the P5.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
