Micah was on scholarship.  Regardless adding 6 would put the team at16 players which As far as I know would exceed the 15 player limit.

I'd have thought that a USF WBB fan would have known Micah Kroll was awarded a schollie this past season.

Ned, I never heard of the rule limiting rosters to just 15 players (I know 15 scholarships, but I thought unlimited walk ons). So I went to the NCAA manual, and here is what I found.

In  17.3 Basketball. there is no mention of roster limitations, and I think I am looking in the right place, because right before it, under 17.2 Baseball, I found this:

17.2.8.3 Varsity Squad Size Limitation—Championship Segment. An institution shall declare a varsity squad of a maximum of 35 student-athletes by the day prior to its first scheduled contest in the championship segment of the playing and practice season. Only those student-athletes who are declared as varsity squad members at that time shall be eligible to participate in countable athletically related activities with the varsity squad during the remainder of the championship segment. Declared varsity squad members shall not participate in countable athletically related activities with an institution’s subvarsity team (e.g., freshman, junior varsity). I can be wrong, but take a look and tell me what I am missing. here is the link: http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/D116.pdf

No doubt.

I hope the trend continues for the 2017 class.

There are a number of top players interested in USF and a few of them are local.

One such is 6'4" LaDazhia Williams, from Bradenton, who just about everybody is after.

Well, she is now on TEAM COURTNEY WILLIAMS with a number of other stars.

I remember Jose saying that he likes to reward walk-on Seniors with a schollie.

That's awesome. This should be done wherever possible in all sports ....

Not the same thing, not sure of the accuracy, but I was told by an SEC fan that the SEC limits the size of basketball teams (home and visiting) to 15 players.

Looks like that pertains to # dressed out and only on intraconference play ...

The home and visiting teams are limited to a squad size of 15 student-athletes.

Micah was awarded the schollie back in July 2015.

It appears that I was incorrect on the roster limit issue.

I remember Jose saying that he likes to reward walk-on Seniors with a schollie.

With 6 recruits, unless someone leaves the team, that he will not be able to do that for Neena P.

I'd have thought that a USF WBB fan wouldn't have... :roflmao::lmao::FIREdevil:

As for the number of players, is it possible that the one gal that just played one game who has had numerous injuries won't be back?  CJF is still looking at signing one more.

I believe right now we are in balance, we signed 6, had 5 seniors and 1 unused scholarship.

I don't know who might be leaving.

Think about all the men's players who have left or been kicked out. I can't remember the last time a key contributor left the program early for the women.
