Its the whole premier customer service thing they push on us.  Keeps it personal.

But the oeo system is the beginning of the evolution of publix.  Customers love the service but the most valuable thing for customers is their time.   A self service checkout will help with both

Or being able to pay online for your order.  :2cents:

I'm preeeeeeeety sure you still have to wait in line at the register to pay - you can't pay online.  THAT's the part they need to fix if they want to dominate.

Yeah,  that can somebody dodgy but I'm usually out of there in like 5 minutes after going through the express lane.

Gentleman. If the quick check outs (10 item or less lines) are actually backed up and/or moving to slow simply go directly to the customer service counter, pay and go about your day. I have never had to wait a significant period of time to pay for a sub, especially none longer than the convenience of picking up my already made sub.

Definitely possible.  Just provide a spot on the oeo slip that says "PAID"

An open pickup counter with subs that say paid... No one sees a problem with this logic?

I'd place a cash register over by the deli or place the subs with customer service for pickup.

Also how about Uber delivering some publix subs?

At least with the Fowler Jimmy Johns, I could just save my digestive system the time and trouble and just go ahead and put the sub directly in the toilet.

You don't fully appreciate Publix until you leave the state and have to go grocery shopping. I went to an Ingles in NC, one of the nicer ones too, and it made even an old Publix look like Disney World by comparison
