at 4-8, we had a good class, and every one of them stuck it out thru NSD.

Now, at 8-5, we DO have some good gets...but we're getting poached.  3 in the last week or so, and Salomon seems a certain flip.

Not pushing the panic button, but it's making Twitter suck to read, as the bad news is outweighing the good news the last few weeks.  Hopefully Coach T has some NSD surprises to boost this class...with these losses, we'll likely be in the 80-100 range.

It's getting ridiculous, the P5 bagmen must be out in full force.

I thought Taggart would be able to recruit 100% better with a winning season at his back. Instead the P5 is apparently using our recruit list as a raid list. What changed in two years? In 2014 Taggart was closing these kids (Mack, Johnson, Flowers, Nichols), in 2016 they're flipping to crappy P5s (with the exception of Miami) and decent G5s (Temple).

You can only sell hype for a couple of years.  After that, things get back to normal.

Hype? are you talking about Taggart? Our team has been improving over the last 3 years, maybe not as fast as some would like but it is no where near where skip left us.

CWT looks vindicated on selling the hype, doubling wins the last 2 seasons, with a bowl game going from a hope to an expectation.

Yes, the hype machine that a new coach brings in like CWT.  Couple that with players we got because we could offer playing time because we really had no one.  That is why our recruiting class may not be as good as two years ago.  It will take prolonged good seasons for that to become the norm, imo.

I imagine that UCF will put together a pretty decent class because of their new coach.  Even after a dumpster fire of a season.  That be the hype.

The point about "instant playing time" being diminished is valid.  But that's a great problem to have.  Still, the true studs will compete in Year 1 or 2...so knowing CWT will play the best talent lets that pitch still hold true.

This class is still on track to be top 3 in the conference and that's with a limited number of schollys. Step off the ledge fellas.

I don't think anyone is on the ledge.  Just attempting to explain to those who have a hard time understanding why our class after a good season may not be as highly ranked as in years past.

Yup...no one panicking, but many not happy about losing 3 flips (though most were only "committed" for a week or so, so not stunning.  Losing 2 OTs sucks...not denying that.  Hopefully we nab another, and have some young talent that develop & step up (really hoping Gibbons is healthy & makes an impact).

I agree, losing the 2 highly rated OTs hurts the most..

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
