"The vote by the NCAA Division I Council passed 7-2. The Atlantic Coast Conference and the American Athletic Conference voted against it and the Pac-12 didn't vote."

:huh::wacko::blink:

WTF???  A block surely would have meant a raid on the AAC.

Did Houston/Cinci/UConn force the rest of the league to vote against it?

Or did all teams, including USF/UCF think they were going to be chosen and wanted to roll the dice?

The representative for the AAC that voted was the UConn rep. Draw your own conclusions.

How the Big 12 would decide who plays the game would still have to be determined. Bowlsby said the new rule only requires the ''top two'' teams.

I'm kind of surprised there wasn't something more definitive in the rule about the criteria for the "top two" teams ....

I thought the SEC was the biggest player against them having a CCG with 10 teams? I'm surprised they allowed it. Also surprising to see the AAC vote against it, as the majority of the teams in this league have not been in the conversation of expansion at all. Teams that probably don't want expansion are ECU, Tulane, Tulsa, Navy, Temple, SMU and teams that might have wanted to roll the dice for it were USF, UCF, UConn, Houston, Cincy, Memphis. Crazy conference we have here

USF wasn't going to the big 12 anytime soon. We need more winning seasons and to put fans back in seats. This is good for us.

I think that's what the B12 wanted.  They didn't want any rules to decide who would be the champion.

Now they can select whom they think should pay in the event of a tie, whether that team actually deserved it or not (i.e. brand recognition).

I agree.  I can see some shenanigans going on with this lack of clarity.

I'd rather we get another couple of seasons to get stronger before we have the dice rolled for us. I think this result is better for our current situation...

B12 will have a huge challenge to exist in 2 years. See the OU Presidents comments yesterday. When OU and Texas see the checks the big 4 are sahing, they are gone as will be the B12 IMO.

By Bolsby's prediction, a Champ game garners 20M ( good luck with that) or 2M each team. That is peanuts. The B12 is a s good as gone when the $ race reveals them as  a loser.

    We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
