Jenkins is a good player but her past performances against UCONN are not to good.

2014 -2015  points 0  rebounds  8   fouls  4

                                8                   9             4

                             10                     4            2

2013-2014               6                     8           4

                                 1                     4           0

looking at her stats  i would think if we want to keep up scoring with uconn we may be better off with her on the bench

We did score a lot the last 2 games without her.

25 points in 5 games equals 5 points a game which doesn't help.

Her stats aren't that good because she is forced to play against a defender that is 4 inches taller than her and is a starter on Uconn, of course she is going to get in foul trouble and not score a lot, but we need some sort of consistent rebounding or else Uconn will get so many second chance points

Yes, but not as many with her.

she averages at most 5 defensive rebounds against Uconn. with a bad ankle how many less shots do you see?

1 or 2?

I agree that this was the best game of the season other than how Courtney played. A deadball rebound is when a shooter is shooting 2 free throws and a player gets the "rebound" after the first shot is missed.

So the player standing flat footed and simply taps the ball back to the ref gets credit? Which brings the next question - Why?

1. For me, this was the best game we've played since the tournament last year. Every player seemed to have a little more pep in their step. Everybody contributing and not waiting for Courtney to score. Laksa was sick!

2. Coach said that mri's all came back negative and a lot depends on her ability to play thru pain. He then mentioned something about this being her first sprain on that ankle. I don't know if that means something as far as the healing process.

3. What the heck is a "deadball rebound"? We had one listed on the first half stat sheet last night.

Who would fill her spot? Jesperson? I would say that it would be closer to 5 if not more because even if she doesn't get the rebound she is still boxing out her defender to make sure they can't get it, which she does better than anyone else on our team.

One thing to keep in mind, last year Jose tended to go small against UConn, putting his best scoring threats on the floor, which meant Jenkins was playing the 5. Weber is also banged up. So, Jesperson might gain time at the 4, but I am not sure she can play the 5 against UConn.

When Jenkins is playing the 4 and gets hurt, plug in Jesperson and keep going.

When Jenkins is playing the 5 and gets hurt, what do you do? It isn't easy.

Morgan Tuck did not play @Houston last night. She experienced some soreness in her knee after shoot around before the game. She will rest as a precaution.

UCONN still won 76-37, but that was 12 points below their 88 point season scoring average.

During halftime of the UConn Houston game they did a whole segment from the studio on USF and how we could beat UConn.  Talked about Williams and also Jenkins injury.  Really cool to be talked about like that

I know that UCONN fans are taking this game very seriously.

This is expected to be their 2nd toughest game left. They play So Car in Feb.

Considering that we are their only true conference rival, I anticipate a toughly contested battle on the floor as well as the boards.
