Stupid in my opinion.   Sends a message to coaches about the organization, and not the right one.

I think that's BS.  Lovie was the playcaller for the defense.  It's his defense, the other coaches were doing what he told them to do.

I think the embarrassing 4 game slide to end the year, when the Bucs were technically in a playoff hunt, plus Koetter interviewing for the Eagles and maybe the Dolphins job, combined to make the Glazers think they needed to can Lovie now.

So Glazers hire a defensive coach give him one pick for defense for 2 years then after 2 years you fire him for the OC that is avg that has no head coaching experience in NFL.

Going to laugh if they win 6 or 7 games next year very possible given harder schedule.

Another thing that non-Buc fans don't realize is that Lovie had final say over roster/personnel, so it's not like he was GIVEN one defensive pick.  He also was given carte blanche to bring in guys that fit his scheme, which he did, and almost every single player he brought in failed miserably.

Koetter has plenty of OC experience in the NFL, he's ready to be a coach.
