Nunez Earns Weekly Conference Honors

New York native scored a season-high 19 points at Seton Hall

TAMPA, DEC. 28, 2015 – USF senior forward Angel Nunez was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday.

The native of Washington Heights, N.Y., scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Bulls’ 66-49 loss at Seton Hall last Tuesday. He went 9-of-16 from the field, including 1-of-5 from 3-point range.

It is the first recognition from the conference office for Nunez, who has averaged 16.7 points and 7.7 rebounds. Joining Nunez on the honor roll was Caleb White (East Carolina), Damyean Dotson (Houston), Avery Woodson (Memphis) and Nic Moore (SMU). UConn’s Daniel Hamilton was named player of the week and Jacob Evans of Cincinnati was named rookie of the week.

Nunez and the Bulls open American Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at 2 p.m. when they host Houston. Tickets can be purchased by visitingwww.USFBullsTix.com

Nuñez has really been getting it done the past 2-3 games. He has been a bright spot for sure and I'm hoping the extra practice and the commitment he has been showing is infectious.
