We were only held under 44 points three times all year, twice to two of the best defenses in the SEC, one of which we beat and one big 10 team who gave Ohio State all they could handle. Your defense is good but not a top 50 defense! We played two top 50 defenses on our way to a conference championship; Southern Miss ranked 40th in total defense and Marshall ranked 48th in total defense both of which we scored 45+ on. Lastly, your looking at a Tyson Helton and Jeff Brohm offense vs Tom Allen defense! No match! Oh and here are you some graphics to go along with this good reading. LOL http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/22 All that and the ONLY team WKU played that could match the speed of our defense is LSU. Also, USF's defense is #37 in yards per game (361 ypg) and #23 in points per game at 21.1. So clearly we are a top 50 defense. Other than that I thought your post was accurate and insightful. No one cares about USF and surely no one care about some country bumpkins in backwoods Kentucky. If I asked 10 random people in a gym right now if they knew who USF is playing in the bowl game (assuming they didn't confuse us for UCF), I'd be willing to bet that no one would know. If I asked those same 10 people anything about WKU football, they would be just as clueless. A 2:30 PM time slot on a Monday afternoon is equivalent to watching the Home Shopping Network at 1 AM on the weekend. No one cares... This bowl is only big because we are USF homers. Outside of the puppies and rainbow world we live in, people will be working. I'm flying that morning into Boston. I'll be wearing my USF jersey and my daughter will also be wearing something in green and gold. There's little doubt in my mind people won't know that we play two hours after we land that day. Welcome to the land of have nots.Welcome to the AAC! Have you seen our ratings the whole year? Nobody ever cares about USF Football outside our very, very small fan base. We are who we areI am looking forward to Monday. Wake up early, drink and eat lunch at Bayside, watch our Bulls in a Bowl game, sober up, tuck in my kids, go to bed. Who has it better than us!

Probably will go down to has the ball last unless you all run all over our defense. Our run defense is suspect at best. And for those thinking this bowl is irrelevant, I felt the same way. How the runner up in our conference get a better bowl in my opinion than us facing a PAC10 school? Looking at your conference bowl tie ins you probably wish you were playing against an SEC or ACC team. I think being 4th overall in your conference and playing a top 25 team is pretty good even if it is a team from the sticks. LOL My prediction is still WKU 44 - USF 40!!!!!!

Allowing 6-6 bowl teams were/are bad enough.

Thanks! It was definitely fun for us. Next year will be a different story. No 6 year QB! You all had a great season as well. Believe it or not but we follow you all closely because of Willie. Was excited when he turned the season around this year. Personally I was hoping this match up didn't happen because of the ties with coach Taggart but I guess it makes for better TV on a Monday afternoon. LOL My prediction is still WKU 44 - USF 40!!!!!!Actually I don't get what you are saying. You are now saying it should be a good close game. You previously said our defense is no match for your offense and the two best defenses you faced were SEC defenses. Yet our defense is, statistically, right with the Vanderbilt and LSU defenses.Yards per game - LSU #25 (342 ypg); Vanderbilt #30 (351 ypg); USF #36 (361 ypg)Points per game - Vanderbilt #22 (21ppg); USF #23 (21.1ppg); LSU #44 (24.0ppg)Had you just come on here and said you thought it would be a good close game you probably would not have gotten any flack from the majority here. But you chose to crap on our defense, which has been pretty dang good this year.
