The networks will decide when and how much and who.  By networks i mean espn.  Nothing is going to happen unless texas gets left out after having a good year next year or until renegotiations come.

Central time zone would jack up away game times people. I'm out!

Hate to say it, but in order of attractive candidates to the big 12 probably are 1. Cincinnati 2. Houston 3. USF 4. Memphis 5. UCF. I just don't see BYU joining a conference, or it would be a toss up with us and them at 3

I really doubt the Big12 adds Houston.  They don't need another team in Texas.  That's part of the reason the SWC broke up because it was too regional.  The driver of expansion is money.  The money the Longhorn Network makes will not increase by adding Houston, everybody in that market already gets it.  The additional money will come from NEW markets.

I just don't see a scenario where one goes without the other,  we may not want it but we got to be a package deal one way or another

no. No package deal.

USF made it to the P6 without UCF. If we wait for them, we stay where we are. FIU & FAU was a package deal for CUSA.

USF needs to build a powerhouse like TCU.

We get in on our merit, not ride other's coattails, and dominate once we get in.

It's going to be all about timing

I feel like the key to being able to join the Big 12 is to keep coach our for the long run. It sure worked wonders for TCU. Gary Patterson has stayed with them since they were in the mountain west conference

I'm not trying to be contrarian, but you are putting too much stock in one season.  I think if one of you two would be waiting, it would be UCF for USF still, and tbh there are probably a couple schools ahead of the two as well.  Now, another season of similar results for both schools and I think you would have a much cleaner position.

If the Big 12 got left out of the CFB playoffs again, you can guarantee they would expand to have enough for a conference championship game.

If it was any school other than OU or Texas winning the conference this year, then I think the committee would have given the final spot to Stanford or Ohio St.
