Hey guys,

If you are looking for creative ways to safely get to Miami for the bowl game and back, I found this luxury bus company that looks really cool. Pretty affordable and they have terminals in downtown and near USF. Might be a good option for people who don't want to make the long drive to Miami and risk taking a long drive home drunk after a big Bulls win. Looks like a round trip is around $100. Here is the site:

I won't be able to make the game because of work, but just figured I would post this for everyone else.

If you're feeling adventurous, the Amtrak Silver line goes to Miami for about $80-$90 roundtrip and is relatively easy (also you can drink on it). You can also take the Megabus to Miami for about $25 each way.

Amtrak is way better than taking the bus. Also if you aren't afraid of public transit the bus will take you from the station to downtown. So it should be easy to get to the stadium.

I've driven, flown, taken the Amtrak, Megabus and Greyhound to Miami -- it really just depends on the person.

The Greyhound takes the longest and is really kinda awful, but the new Greyhounds have Wifi and power outlets in the seats, so there's at least that. This route also has the heighest degree of murderitudity (yes, I made this word up).

The Amtrak trains are one of the easiest rides besides flying, but they only go once a day and despite being on a track, are sometimes several hours late -- don't think that you can leave by X on a certain day and show up at X the same day.

The Megabus takes about the same amount of time as Amtrak (they're both a little over 5 hours). It's cheap and the buses are fine, but it's still a bus -- they breakdown, get caught in traffic, and you're subject to the will of an underpaid driver and his or her respective temperament for the day.

Flying via American, Silver, etc is the quickest, but it'll probably cost you around $200 roundtrip by the time you're done with all the fees.

If you don't mind driving, just get in the car, set the cruise control and don't speed in Alligator alley.

You could also take Uber from the train station.

This is the correct answer to train station transport.

Perhaps technically you could fly down American - 11:50 AM to 12:53 arrival in Miami. Return on the 9:49 pm to 10:57 pm to Tampa flight.

Flight cost for two people was $410 with that route.

We're working on it. Aiming for at least a 2% success rate before we start taking trip reservations.

USF website said there will be transportation packages available once it becomes official. i checked flights and its about 230 round trip with a 7a departure and a 8 or 9p return. But $230 for one to Miami?  sucks.
