They're also yet another spread team. Doughty is better than Gunner Kiel or Hayden Moore, but you can't make the case he's better than someone like Paxton Lynch.

Our 4-2-5 will most likely handle them as long as they come out ready to play.

Real question is how well do we play their defense. For once it's not a swiss cheese unit a la Syracuse or Cincinnati, but they aren't as good as temple.

I say we likely win this something like 38-28.

Did we really want a gimmie win just to say, "oh wow! We won a bowl game!....against a crappy team, yay us!" We are building a program here. You have to beat good teams to be considered a good team. Some on here wanted a New Years Bowl against a P5 and now we are afraid of a matchup against a team because they are receiving votes and some might want to stick it to our coach? Come on...

Agreed that WKU appears to be a good team and one with motivation to win the game -- definitely wish that beating them would give us the same national level of respect that beating a crappy Auburn team would, but that's just not true.

I think the idea here is no, we want to play a good team, but if we're going to have to scrap for a victory, we'd rather it be a higher-profile opponent that we're not expected to beat. We should expect to beat WKU, so if they give us all we can handle, it will make us look weaker.

I think we roll them, though, if we bring the same focus we had in the last few games.

I won't be able to get off of work for this one. It's going to be a tough matchup. I'm sure the Taggart ex-coach spin will be talked a lot about.

at least we get one of the tallest midgets. No sure who will be watching, or if too many people will show up. But glad we got into a game, we got the extra practices, the exposure is good, and the extra money for the program. How well do the Hilltoppers travel?

Checked Twitter and wku fans wanted a p5 opponent worse than we did.

@zach_greenwell what are the chances of WKU playing a team from one of the power 5 conferences

plenty more just like that

This bowl is terrible. Nobody outside of our box would even care to watch. To the average college football fan its two "directional schools" with no history. This is the view. We really needed a P5 in this one. But at least its a bowl game.

If you've been following the past month or so, we were never going to get a P5 team in a bowl. We were always going to go to a FL bowl (unless Temple lost) playing against another G5 team. This isn't and shouldn't be a surprise. Does it suck? kinda, but the percentages said it was going to be the outcome one way or another.
