I am all for an OCS...

But the cold hard question:

Is there ANY data to show that an OCS would increase revenue?

Attendence will look much better with smaller OCS than at RJS. 20k looks better in a 45k OCS than 20k in a RJS 65k stadium. End of story!

West Virginia brought a lot of fans to RJS, but so does UCF when we play them.  Not sure Louisville brings that many more than the current AAC teams, maybe a thousand or 2 at most.

And as I have already said, the quality of opponent is not worse now.  If anything, it's better now.  AAC has 5 teams in polls or receiving votes.  Houston, Memphis, Navy, etc. would demolish the old Syracuse, Rutgers, and Pitt teams we played in the BE.  Houston would ring up half a hundred on those teams.  Memphis on a good day can score 60-70 points.  Navy can grind you into powder.  Temple should have beaten ND (and then we destroyed them) and those are their only 2 losses.  Now if your talking about "name" programs, as in a program was good 30 years ago or had a Heisman winner 50 years ago, then yes, Syracuse, Pitt, etc. were bigger so called names, but that's it.

If we win big, big attendance numbers will come.  I am absolutely convinced of that.

what you don't seem to grasp is that when we were in the B.E. we had a chance to play for the national title.  That excitement drove attendance and enthusiasm. Now that we are in a G5 conference all that is lost.  The P5 schools are going to greatly reduce the number of G5 schools they play moving forward (unless they are approved in advance  like ND, BYU, AF, Navy, Army Cincy, UConn).

Therefore, we need an OCS.

We have the about the same chance we had in the BE.  The BE was very disrespected.  Most people thought BE shouldn't have a BCS bid.  After Miami left, the chances of a BE team making NC were small.  In fact, it never happened after Miami left and since Miami won their last one in 2001 or whenever it was..  The BE winner made a BCS bowl.  And the AAC winner will likely make a BCS (now CFP) bowl 75% of the time.

that approval aspect was total BS. Once we play Illinois in a few years we too will "be approved." In terms of P5 playing G5 games they will continue for middle and lower teams as they have no choice...who else will they play unless they want to be 2-10 every year.

You just can't grasp the concept that when you lose attendance and enthusiasm, that's the perfect time to go in debt ...

If there is any time to build an OCS. It is now.

But,  would it increase football revenue?

It would probably increase revenue, but also increase debt.  It would most likely be a net loss.
