Actually it's more akin to buying a vacation home that you will use only 6-7 days a year. You have to pay to operate and maintain it 365 days a year.

I'd say more like a vacation home on the beach that you can rent out when you're not using it.  Concerts, seminars, graduations, etc. can all pull in revenue to help out with maintenance costs.

Here's some info on the renovations from a Bucs email:

The proposed first stage of the renovations are scheduled to be completed for the Buccaneers 2016 season. The centerpiece of the first phase of projects will be the installation of new, state-of-the-art HD video boards in each end zone, four HD tower video displays in each corner of the lower bowl and HD ribbon boards in the center ring of the suite level. The proposed new end zone boards will be expanded and measure 9,600 square feet each, while each tower display will measure 2,304 square feet for a total video display area of 28,416 square feet—the third-largest in the NFL. The project will also include a new, state-of-the-art sound system and concessions upgrades, in addition to the renovation of all luxury suites.

The second phase of renovations – which will be completed in time for the team’s 2017 season – will include an extensive renovation of the east and west club lounges, expansions of the general concourses, construction of a team store, and other general fan enhancements.

The Buccaneers are committed to spend a minimum of $29 million on Phase 1 improvements and $28.8 million on Phase 2, combined with the TSA’s $28.8 million. Additional enhancements are expected to be added, which would put the total project in excess of $100 million. The Buccaneers would be responsible for all costs of any additional enhancements. In consideration of the additional $3 million TSA has proposed for the enhanced video boards, the Buccaneers have agreed to change the revenue split above $2 million in TSA profits, from 50/50 to a 67/33 split in favor of TSA.

Lot of venues in the Tampa competing for those events.   Wouldn't an OCS be competing with the Sun Dome for graduations?  Seminars at a football stadium...how often does that happen?

Do you know how many events UCF stadium scheduled this past year.

Try renting out  a vacation home in the USF area....see how that works out.  Suitcase City Beach front dream vacation home for rent!

probably right.  Maybe we could host a bowl or a HS championship, but yeah, competing with venues that already exist.

Checked on Ticketmaster for the BHNFP and was met with this:

There are no events currently scheduled at this venue.

I run naked through Suitcase City Beach all the time, it's perfectly fine and safe. I channel my inner Calvin, of Calvin and Hobbes fame.  :moon:
