Sort of.  The losses to Alabama this year and then Florida really stoked the flames.

Heard a stat today on the radio that UGA has put 79 players into the NFL during Richt's tenure - more than anyone else.  Everyone else on the list with 60 or more has won national championships.  That's why Richt is gone.  UGA boosters couldn't take it anymore.

yep. But to be fair, there was a lot of talk for the last 2-3 years of my time there in the ATL (2011-2013) about how to boot Richt. Even the sports radio there in ATL had discussions about it, although they mostly concluded the alum was crazy for wanting him gone IIRC.

Alright then!  In hindsight (and morning sobriety) it does seem a bit low, but I'll stand by it and we'll circle back in a year or less to square up, NE.

Nah, no problem. I was born and raised in Georgia, my grandfather played for the Dawgs in the 1950s, and my sister in law still works in UGA's athletic department. So the program is still one that I follow (although not nearly as much as USF). Richt simply did not win enough SEC championships and they needed a breath of fresh air. Looks like he did not get fired but resigned on his own as big money boosters were reducing their donations. Because of the large, quality recruiting class coming in, Richt will stay on as associate AD and be in charge of community relations.

Your on. You don't know about the culture of UGA football. The last time they won only 3 games I was not born yet...and I am an old man lol.

Well I think that UGA can probably beat Nicholls State, Louisiana Lafayette, and Vandy next year, so there's 3 wins.

Richt wasn't good enough for the community so he stepped down to be head of community relations...

Georgia is just asking for a Nebraska situation.  Nebraska fired Bo Pelini after a 9-3 season.  Pelini won 9 or 10 games a year for 7 years.  7 years straight!!  So obviously Mike Riley comes in an goes 5-7 in year one...

I don't think Georgia is as difficult a place to win as Nebraska, but Georgia (and LSU) is really challenging karma to slap them in the face.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
