Great movie line. Otherwise, really, really bad investment.Let's see, OC basketball arena with recent upgrades and the men can't get 5K in the doors unless the Gators are in town. OC baseball and they can't get 3K in the stands no matter who is int town. OC softball stadium, can't get 1,500 in the stands and had a first team All-American who will win a Gold Medal next year. OC soccer stadium with a team who is in the top 20 every year and can't get 2K to games. Women's Volley Ball plays on campus and I'll bet without looking most don't even know when the season begins and ends.Where do I sign up and write the check for the OC football stadium? maybe we should just cancel all sports. That would probably make you happy.

College football is much different animal than all the sports that you brought up. Look at Houston, Tulane, UCF, and Cincy. Ask them if they prefer the NFL stadium or OCS. Their answers will surprise you.W

Can it be payed for while the program is down is the way to look at it. Edited November 30, 2015 by slick1ru2

There is very little real benefit to renting out RJS. It is bad for so many reasons. The problem is that most USF fans simply don't know any better, it is what we are used to, therefore it is a benefit because admitting that it sucks somehow makes us less.Probably has a lot to do with UCF and what they have. If UCF played at Rayjay we would be going off about how lame it is that they rent their stadium.Yes, USF needs a stadium, no it does not have to be amazing in every way, it just has to be "better" than UCF's by whatever measure will appease the fan base.

If you are thinking about buying a car do you do research, have a conversation with your spouse, or do anything? Any big purchase should be done in the best way possible. Talking about this and figuring out how to get our program to the next level is the best thing for our school. Sports attract attention, better students, and bring in money when they are doing well. If after things are said and done it is determined we can find a path into a better conference with more revenue without an ocs then that's fine. But let's not truncate the conversation. We have a nice campus and want donors and other folks to see it. Having an ocs opens doors. It is a way to get people on campus and show them what's going on. I think people, alumni included, would be shocked to see the USF campus today. I still here comments about what it looks like and feels like from alumni that haven't been on campus in years. What kind of message can they possibly send? If alumni don't know what it's like you can't expect JQ Public to have a clue. So, what reason do any of them have to go? NONE. When we go to an away game we almost always have to walk ACROSS CAMPUS to get to their stadium. Why would any visiting fan go out to USF?
