Time for USF to get serious about on-campus football stadium

Recommended Posts

If these schools can build a stadium I'm sure USF could figure out how to fund an on campus stadium.  There are only a handful of schools that do not play in their own stadium.  Lots of C-USA, MAC and American schools in the most recent stadium projects list so we would have similar resources to build a stadium.

The school you listed (some of whom did not pay for the fields on this list) did not just go through a $50+ million uplift ... remember, USF just built two stadiums, renovated and expanded another, renovated their arena, and added major practice facilities for basketball and football.

That is a lot of debt already.

I've always been a huge proponent of the OCS, and welcome any discussion to get us moving in that direction.

In the short term I really would like to see the IPF get built. First, we can benefit from it, as we lose practices to weather. Second, its very inexpensive compared to a stadium. Its an excellent project to test Harlan's ability to get the community/donors involved.

It is hard to get excited in an IPF. Rutgers had one when I played light weight football for them in the late 80's.  It did not add any wins to their program.

We play in pretty much all weather so we should practice the same way. I never understood IPF hype.

Without going into detail I can assure there are no conversations about an OCS at USF.

of course the Dons aren't considering one, but the bulls at least need to be thinking about it. Discussion does not mean building. I think people falsely equate the two. Beginning the discussion is a good thing. I don't know why people get hurt and in their feelings about the subject.

If it's insider knowledge, I don't recommend the approach you've taken with shouting it from the rooftops. A good number of us have been privileged to learn of inside athletics information and have hinted at or stayed completely quiet. Repeatedly mentioning that you have the information will get you removed from future inside communications.

Astute advice .... but, no offense meant to the painted guy, I would be absolutely stunned if this is legit insider info.

IPF first ...

Not crazy on Mosi location but for traffic and parking I guess makes most sense.

If announced in 2 years then might be done in under 4 years??..I could live with that :)

I'm sure there are, and have been, ongoing conversations about an OCS. I just don't believe it's a done deal with blueprints and the MOSI site a lock .... and if it is, like was mentioned before, you're rattin' out your sister.

Who to believe.....
