Yep. Regardless of whether we get a chance at the conference championship this year or not, next year could be pretty special if they can keep this up.

This.

USF is bound to be the favorite to win the East next season... and with Navy losing almost all of their starting team (10 on offense, and like 6 or 7 on defense), I don't think any of our conference opponents could beat us -- assuming we are able to keep the coaching staff intact.

There will be some questions on the OL and DL... but we have a lot of talent that transferred in and had to sit out, along with some players to redshirted, and at least one player who had academic issues that should be back.

We may start the year ranked (or at least getting votes) and things could fall REALLY WELL for us depending on the schedule.

The 1st half season of 2007 was the last time we played like this. I don't think USF has even finished a season like this year.

Wonder if we started the season with this offense could we have had 2 more wins. Not complaining as I am very happy with this season

Yes, If not for 1 player (Dalvin Cook) we would've beaten that team in the capital.

2002 We ended with a 7 game winning streak.  It felt lot like this - like we could beat anybody.  With back to back road losses to Arkansas and Oklahoma.  The Oklahoma game was respectable (they ended #2 in the country and the score was 14-31 in their favor).

Unfortunately, as I am sure you know, we were not invited to a bowl and that still hurts.

To be fair, it was 31-0 before we got a couple of garbage time touchdowns.

Great point. I hope USF does what it needs to do on this front.

We could become the Boise State of the East with this team. We are pounding everyone right now...

Even if we change some coaching personnel I don't see these young players magically forgetting what it takes to win.

This is exactly what I've been thinking recently. If we can position ourselves as the Boise State of a few years ago, where they were always the best team from an outside conference and crashing the BCS...we could be sitting pretty. Also, the AAC is a lot more respected as a football conference than the conference Boise State is in, so that would help our SOS.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
