My brief research indicates that last happened in the 2008 season when the Bulls got out to a 6-1 record with the lone loss against Pittsburgh (Wins over Tenn-Martin, UCF, Kansas, FIU, NC State and Syracuse).

 

The last time we won 7 out of 8 was 2002, when the squad ran off 7 wins to close the season after a 31-14 loss to Oklahoma in Game 5.  Finished Week 6 through 12 with wins over N. Texas, So. miss, ECU, Chas Southrn, Memphis, Bowling Green and Houston.  Lot of familiar names their, sadly.
