With the way Flowers played last year and the beginning of this year, I was weary and thought Woulard would be the started next year. The team and Flowers has done a complete 180 and Flowers is my guy now. But, he's a true dual threat and takes hits, so he's one play away from getting injured. It's great to have a QB with so much potential backing up Flowers since injuries happen all the time to Flowers-like QB's.

This is my take as well--- I cannot see Flowers losing out to AW after the job he's done this season. BUT it is very important that we make sure AW is ready to come in and make sure he gets plenty of minutes on the field whenever possible (FCS teams, blowouts) - as that will lessen the chance of an injury to Flowers at the same time as it prepares us for potential injury that might happen. I am NOT saying we go a split QB system by any means -- but there are plenty of opportunities to prepare AW and give him valuable in game experience. We did something similar with Grothe/Daniels though they were SR versus FR -- slightly different. Or was it that we didn't do it cuz Grothe did get hurt against an FCS team if memory serves. Regardless- the smart move is for them both to prepare as if they are number one guys.

The other option would be use AW in a receiving capacity for a year or so while still being our main backup. We've done that before as well and it gave us and it worked out pretty well. I just don't want to see him rust away on the sideline-- we need that athlete on the field.

Whatever the case-- this is a great problem to have and having someone there to push Flowers will only help him work that much harder to improve.

Its really hard to see Woulard starting week 1 next season. So why worry about it now?

Flowers is amazing when forced out of the pocket.

But, I remember a lot of people wanting to drop him for Bench a few weeks back.

Because everything is going pretty well with football right now and not many care about the other sports ...

I don't understand how this is even a conversation.Since CWT took the training wheels off, QF has been a stud. The SMU game he willed the team to the win without Mack in the lineup. Why can't our fans just be happy.

I remember this conversation going into Grothe's senior year too... I guess we can never be happy with what we have.

I think most are happy.  We are just wondering how next spring is going to play out, at least I am.
