USF (0-1) is coming off an 82-77 loss to Troy on Monday. Junior forward Chris Perry recorded 13 points and 17 rebounds for his sixth-career double-double. The 17 rebounds were the most in a game for the Bulls since 2010 when Ron Anderson Jr. had 17 vs. Liberty on Nov. 23, 2010.

Freshman guard Jahmal McMurray scored a team-high 21 points in his collegiate debut with the help of five 3-pointers. He made half of the Bulls’ 10 made threes which was the most three’s made by a USF team in a regulation game since 2010.

Another standout performance in his USF debut was senior forward Angel Nunez who finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

There is just zero room for injuries this year and unfortunately, we started off the year with four key players injured. I expect better as the team gets healthier. .500 is my expectation.

I think this is the same NJIT that upset Michigan last year. We can't play the same "woof" style of ball, as we did against Troy, and expect to win. I know we are down players to injury, but the healthy ones need to play some lock-down D and need to crash the boards against smaller teams.

It is, and they were actually up on Kentucky 21-15 5 minutes into their game Saturday........................ before losing by 30. This game will give us a probably unwanted look into what may transpire next Friday.
