It almost feels like the rest of the conference is coming back to us.  Just a few weeks ago, Memphis was being talked about as a playoff team.  Crazy how fast things change.  Probably bad for conference perception overall.  We will likely only end up with one ranked team, and possibly none.

No, I think the conference got a lot of respect this year.

Temple vs. Notre Dame, everybody watched that. So, Temple got a lot of respect.

We took Temple to the woodshed: good for us!

Memphis, Houston, and Navy, they have all earned a lot of respect this year.

I agree with everything you said - but perception wise, non-AAC fans/followers will not see it this way.  Having teams in the top 25 is what changes perception, IMO.

And to your point there will only be two teams ranked after this week.

Navy and Houston stay in for sure.  With the other losses in the top 25, Memphis may stay.  I know it's unlikely.

And we will probably end with two top 25 ranked teams. Now how many ranked teams outside of the P5 league's do you see ranked?

the AAC is NOT the P5 but it has certainly separated itself from the others and that should be the starting goal for the league

This season, I believe the AAC is on par with the ACC and maybe even the PAC12.  The key is sustaining it.  We have to keep it up for several seasons to even get a whiff of turning the P5 into the P6.

Correct sir, but Navy and Houston play each other.  That will leave the conference with one team in the top 25 no matter what.  I do not see Temple or Memphis getting back in the top 25 and neither will the loser of Navy v. Houston.

Mehhh!  We will be in the Big 12 soon, so it will not matter  :)  I heard that if we win the AAC that the Big 12 will be inviting us by years end.

You are most likely correct.  However, so many things can and do happen.  It wouldn't shock me to see one or three AAC teams in the top 25 at the end of it all.

Set aside students and alumni. Fans are sheep. The single biggest driver for perception is how well the AAC positions itself in terms of media exposure.
