Did he not go through the NCAA Clearinghouse? This could have been nipped before he ever set foot on campus.

NCAA deferred multiple times while they researched, and it continues to be deferred. There had never been a Div 1 recruit from his local Orlando area private Christian school, so there was no history on how the classes would be judged.

No  University has scrutinized the classes and admitted dozens of students over the 25 year history of the school. There was no real reason to suspect that the NCAA would suddenly be asking for his African 6th grade notes, judging the quality of his Advanced French course, or his advanced placement classes. NCAA says that the schools certification is not high enough, and 1/2 of his core classes were disallowed.

Meanwhile, one and doners from "ghost" schools get admitted every day all over the USA, unless they are from Africa, and attended a Christian school. Kansas has the same issue, and St Johns a very similar issue.

Today, the HS released a partial list of the NCAA info request. attendance records, test booklets, notes handed in as a part of the normal course of learning, justification for small class sizes.

Good thing that the NCAA is protecting us all from a devious smart kid from taking over all of college basketball and the University educational system in this fine State.

UNC has decades of kids NOT attending classes, and they want to roast this student for attending a small school, and for getting All A's and one B in his first semester of Engineering base line courses.

O  Sentinel reporting that the school was told in April, that all core classes were approves, thus they expected no problem with Tacko clearing eligibility.

"The NCAA informed the school through a letter on April 15 last year that its core classes had been approved.  Administrators say there was no indication at that time Fall's future academic standing would be in jeopardy."

I really don't care if this guy gets cleared or not. Regardless, he's got bust written all over him. I can't recall a big man that size ever succeeding. I'd say he has a bigger chance getting injured over completing the season (I'm not rooting for injury).

Bust might be a bit strong, he has only been playing ball for 3 years. He runs well, and is more athletic than I would have expected, but for sure, he is going to have a huge learning curve....if he ever plays. This year he was going to be a give the main center a rest guy.

Good thing for him, getting his Engineering degree was a higher goal than playing, so at worst, he hits the job market in  three years, unless he takes the 4 year (full time, no break schedule)  get your Masters and Bachelors all in one effort loop.

Him playing this year would keep the conference on TV IMO.

Congrats. Fall sounds like a very intelligent kid who will be a credit to UCF now and when he graduates.
