If we step back from being diehard Bulls, this team is pretty average (which is a huge improvement from being pretty awful prior to this year). Good plays + awful plays & mental mistakes = average team.

We haven't beaten anyone that's good. I thought Syracuse was good, but not really. And I thought Uconn was good, nope.

So, we are 1 victory away from qualifying for a bowl. But it's not a lock: we have to prove that we are a good team.

Temple is a good team, so is Cincy. And, as much as I hate to admit it, the tin Gnats playing at home will be good because they will give it all they have.

Good teams don't shoot themselves in the foot. We have won some games but we have also been making all kinds of 3-Stooges plays (sorry, Moe).

You add that to CWT's conservative play-calling and the next three games are very tough.

Sooo... this team needs to step up! Gotta be good!

UConn and ECU will both likely end up 5-7, beating teams like that is an improvement for us over beating the 1-2 win bottom of the barrel awful teams like we have the past 2 years. Cincy is not much different than us (not mentioning our same record currently even).  4 of their 5 wins are over AAMU, Miami (OH), UCF and UConn.  They've come up short against every decent team they played except Miami.

But agree, next 3 games will be tough.  Thats the life of an average team.  All 3 games are winnable, while at the same time, all 3 games are losable (Although, Ive watched most of UCF games this year, even with the rivalry thrown in, they are just awful, plain awful - this should be a 21pt+ victory for us).

From where we were, average is an improvement.  Hopefully, starting next year, we fall into the, "good" category.

BTW, we've lost to: 7-2 FSU; 8-1 Memphis; and 7-1 Navy.  All really good teams.  Our only screw up is 2-7 Maryland.  We haven't had a shot at teams over .500 without them being really good.

We have to beat temple or cincy

"Have" to beat them? It would be nice to beat them but UCF is the "have" to game on the schedule.

Sorry to disagree but we only have 2 games to prove we deserve a bowl. We need to beat either Temple or Cincy for us to be credible. If we lose to both and beat UCF, we don't deserve a bowl.

Like you said, we haven't beat any significant team so far. And if our bowl hopes rest on beating UCF for our 6 win, we don't deserve a bowl. We need to be at least 7-5.  IMO.

We would deserve a bowl because we would meet the criteria for a bowl.

From where we were just getting to a bowl game is a big step. If it is just beating a down UCF team for the 6th win so be it.

I think beating Cincy or Temple is a big deal to prove to the fans and everyone else that the team is truly on track, but we are much improved.

There is still a long wayto go, but finally the future is looking up

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
