2011 is the last time USF was playing a November game with a chance to go bowling... USF was 5-4 having won at Syracuse... then we lost 3 straight games... ALL AT HOME:

vs Miami 3-6  (lost as UM hit a FG as time expired)

vs Louisville 24-34 (USF led 24-20 in the 4th quarter, but could not stop Teddy Bridgewater)

vs West Virginia 30-27 (USF led 27-20 in th 4th quarter, but could not stop Geno White)

 

Never forgot how BJ fumbled the ball away in FG range with 2 min left against WVU. I also remember that team losing to Rutgers earlier as a chip shot FG was missed on the last play (Bulls would go on to lose in OT).

The start of the season was ugly.  However, the bottom line is (as you said) we have a meaningful game in mid-November.
