Reminds me of Lollapalooza '94.  Back when that concert actually had a purpose and was original.. and affordable too!  At about $30 a ticket for all.  Now its just another derivative money making surplus of excess. Ticket prices are now $335 for a regular 4 day pass or $120 for 1 day.

The line up back then for the main stage:

  • Smashing Pumpkins
  • Beastie Boys
  • George Clinton & P-Funk All-Stars
  • Breeders
  • Tribe Called Quest
  • L7
  • Nick Cave & Bad Seeds
  • Green Day

Plus some great bands in the side stages,  What a great show that was.

(People may argue that the high price is justified because it's now a multi-day event... But how many of those bands are just filler.  Plus simply compare the single day price now and back then.)

Wasn't Jane's Addiction there as well?

That's a heck of a lineup.

II have now not seen 3 of my favorite bands of all time perform live before a member dies- The B-Boys, Nirvana, and now Tribe.  I don't believe there are any other bands I'd even miss seeing if a member passed.

I saw them in Tampa.

Eddie vedder drinks from a bottle of wine throughout his performance.
