This is the last of the fall tournaments. It's a pretty good field, headed by #5 Stanford.

Christian DeMarco is getting his first team start at USF, after playing very well as an individual in the last event.

Chase Koepka is sitting out.

Very early in the first round and USF is in 2nd place at -2.

BTW, USF is ranked #22 by Golf Week and #26 by Golf Stats which does the live scoring. The ranking shown next to the teams is their ranking.

Great! Let's hope they can hold onto this lead. Do you know how many rounds it is?

Finished the day at +6, tied for 5th.  Claudio and Oskar hit some potholes coming in and went +13 over the final 6 holes.  Lots of golf left to play and only 5 shots off the lead as no team fired under par today.  Go Bulls!

Moving Day today.  Unfortunately we were moving backwards.  We shot 4 over today as a team to slip into a tie for 6th place.  Stanford was channeling their inner Tiger Woods today and shot an impressive -8 today and opened up an 17 shot lead on us heading into the final day.  While winning the tournament is probably a longshot barring a meltdown in front of us, there is still room to improve on our 26th national ranking.

Like Tiger before, Stanford has the #1 World amateur golfer and there are two other Stanford players ahead of him in this tourney.

The surprise team is #51 Washington since they are leading by two shots.

Notice that most of the western teams are near the top of the leaderboard. I'm pretty sure that they are much more familiar with this tough course than USF and other schools outside the area.

Nice to see DiMarco getting a start. He's at +2, T18, along with Olsen.

Fernandes at +7 overall, with a 77 today, is disappointing.

Right after this tourney, Correa and Fernandes are playing in an elite All-American invitational. You can follow them at the link below:

If anyone is wondering, we sheet the bed on the final day with a +14 and finished in 7th place at +24.  Unranked Washington won the tournament besting our score by 30 strokes.

Well, our new players got some playing experience during the fall and that should pay dividends in the spring season.

We now have six guys who have a chance to start.

The stiff competition for those starting spots will make better players of them all.

We've been shuffling our lineups to see what they can do.

Chase Kopeka sat out and he is our most experienced player.

I would have liked to have seen a better showing, but I also understand the big picture and what the coach is trying to do to get the team ready. He probably has a better idea on how they handle college tournament pressure and what they each need to do to improve themselves for the future.
