Because the players didn't execute the plays.

We lost because:

  • The offense can't score more than 13 points against average to above average teams
  • The defense failed to adjust and routinely played with only 6 players in the box (leading to 428 rushing yards)
  • The defense continued its second half trend of meltdowns as Navy scored on its last 3 possessions

This is a mediocre team that has shown it can beat bad teams but isn't good enough to beat quality opponents. This is looking like a 5-7 team.

Did you watch the game or just look at who won, wins don't mean everything when it comes to a team getting better to not.

mediocre teams usually finish .500, a 5-7 team in the AAC is a terrible team.

I did watch, apparently you didn't. We didn't bring a 7th or 8th defender into the box until Navy's game clinching drive. Is the team better this season? Yes. Is this a good football team? No.

Good in terms of usf in the past or good as in a top 25 team that wins the American? That seems to be the standard you are holding them to right now.

We lost because this team failed to score when Navy gave us a second chance deep...a TD there and I think we are all happy talking about a win.

I felt like the main reasons we lost were (1) dropped passes that we needed badly, (2) predictable play calling (run, run, run), and (3) unbelievably awful officiating. I'm not the type that looks to bring up officiating as truly having a bearing on a game, but I was just jaw-dropped stupefied by the missed PI, chops, & holding calls--it did not go both ways.

Because when we don't score more than 17 puts, we lose

Because we couldn't get any run going. Clearly QF was limited with his legs today, Mack looked out of sorts as did DJ. Running read option with those guys wasn't working at all.  Was surprised we didn't see any of the WR screens we have been running as an extension of the run game.

We lost because the running game was not working and our exceptional coach failed to make adjustments

Our offense scored 10 points. Not going to win on the road unless you're playing someone totally helpless with that being the case.
