Does it seem like he goes ultra conservative after taking a lead or are the players just not executing?

Every time we take a lead it seems like CWT resorts to not making a mistake rather than build on the momentum.

With a young instinctive qb, i would rather ride on his success rather than shelfing him.  But i can't tell if its the players taking a back seat or CWT.

Attempting the field goal up 17-16 on 4th and 2 was conservative. I would have liked him to go for that. Especially given that Nadelman had missed the kick when navy jumped offside. It's defensible but not aggressive.

also, we didn't really test the edges with the RBs or the sweep. However we did test them long with decent results.

I think this game was more conservative because he was trying to beat them with the run keep ball away from Navy give defense a rest it's not a bad plan.

What sealed are doom was not getting a td when Navy gave us a new set of downs.

This, 100%, that did feel like the killer.

He was conservative today, but the last two Ws were not so. Wrong message to send to your players and their players, IMO. Go for the throat, especially if you're not expected to win. Don't act like you feel you might can escape if you just chew clock (I mean really, with a 1-point lead?). That just pisses off the other team and tells them you're afraid. That was definitely part of the loss IMO.
