Temple's goal to build a football stadium on campus has received "some seven-figure commitments" for funding, the chairman of the university's board of trustees said Thursday.Chairman Patrick O'Connor confirmed that a proposed 35,000-seat stadium with an estimated cost of $100 million is being pursued for the northwest corner of campus. He said the issue is expected to be discussed at the December trustees meeting. "We are moving forward and exploring every option," he said. The stadium would rise about a block or two behind the Liacouras Center. That location has been a hub of activity. This summer the Triangle apartment complex at Broad and Norris Streets was torn down to make way for Norris Park, 43,000 square feet of open space.Read more at http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/colleges/temple/20151023_Temple_s_goal__35_000-seat___100_million_stadium.html#PHmc4TT8fB1rxSY6.

I think an OCS is an eventuality but not a necessity for us right now. I'd love to see some consistent fan attendance for a few seasons first. If any school or city could argue against a stadium I could see it being Temple/Philly. They have Lincoln Financial Field (home to the Eagles and Temple) , in addition they have Franklin field (home to the Quakers) (seats over 50,000) (was over 70,000 at one time). Both are relatively close to each other. USF is leaving money on the table by not having an OCS. Losing money from ALL Events held in the stadium, sponsorships, naming rights, concessions(huge considering the deal we have now which is non existent), Parking Edited October 23, 2015 by Dhambuc

Not only that, but you are also asking those from St. Pete and South Tampa to essentially drive another 20 minutes to go to the games. If there was an OCS the only attendance number that would improve would be the students, and the University already gets their money no matter what. Until we are consistently averaging 35,000+ in actual attendance again, any serious discussion on this topic needs to be shelved. 2
