OK, here's an easy one for you champions of logic.  And yes, there is an actual "correct" answer--it's not one of those philosophical problems that the answer is a question or anything like that.  If you've seen this one before, no fair ruining it for others!...but if you haven't, take a fair and logical guess.

Which number is completely different from the others?

  1. One-third
  2. 13
  3. Thirty one

3?

Because technically thirty-one is spelled with a hyphen

So what you wrote are 2 different numbers: Thirty, and one

Oooh, you might be right.  I always thought the lack of a hyphen in thirty one was a typo.

No typos...and no right answers yet. ;)

I'm going to guess 2. As in 2. 13. 1 and 3 are involved in all the other options so 2 stands out, and the problem never said those #s couldn't be counted.

Nailed it! 2 it is. It's a design thinking exercise that points out how conditioned our brains are to overlook certain thing (like bulleted lists). Kudos on the logic, GA.

Your other post reminded me to check back on this on.

I call technicality!

The old forum format didn't allow me to see the numbering, unlike this one, unless I actually responded to the post.  Even after I posted, I couldn't see the numbering in front.  Which made me think it was just some just formatting issue (which the old site's format was prone to have)
