Florida Poly trustees just approved last month buying a million dollar house for its president...should help Florida Poly get accredited?

Citing it is, however, a wonderful example of digging up a statistic just to ***** about. Here are 3 universities that USF uses as "peer institutions" and where they fall: Cincinnati - ranked 140th, 4 year graduation rate of 28% NC State - ranked 89th, 4 year graduation rate of 42% Rutgers - ranked 72nd, 4 year graduation rate of 23% (also an AAU school) The others are: University of Buffalo Stony Brook University of Alabama at Birmingham University of California, Irvine University of Illinois, Chicago Edited September 9, 2015 by JTrue

There is a recent thread about that on the Alma Mater board. Here is that link, if interested. http://www.thebullspen.com/topic/100679-usf-welcomes-strongest-academic-class-in-school-history/

But we are ahead of UCF (@168) Their graduation rate is better though. Actually, the six year graduation rate of 67% is much better than in the past and is probably one of the reasons we moved up in their rankings. Over the past few years, USF has instituted various measures with an eye to increasing graduation rates and that has had a positive impact. The teacher to student ratio of 24:1 is now probably the biggest obstacle to overcome, because that requires additional dollars from the state. The national average is 18:

If the state doesn't provide sufficient funding, then the way to fix the problem is to raise tuition. The state has placed a limit on how much USF can raise tuition on residents and non residents alike, but that won't be adequate to get the job done.
