They leave a 15 to 14 game early? I could see leaving early in a blowout, but leaving early in a 1 point game seems stupid.

I'm not buying that either. I'm sure most of the families did leave because of the lateness but I sincerely doubt that most others had called it a night ... If the announced was just under 40K, I'm guessing low 30's for butts in seats .... which, honestly, for a weekday, 6:00 start is not bad.

They still had an announced attendance of almost 40,000.  Is that a real number, was there a large contingent of FIU fans?  Even though they lost I am still concerned that they are drawing these number when it comes to the whole expansion conversation.  Even if they go 0-12 but draw 40k, does it matter?  This is our season to bury them, but I just hope our attendance is there.  Gawd I can't wait until Saturday evening, time is dragging.  

 

Wait, are you impressed with those numbers? They won a conference championship, and then failed to bring in 40k for the home-opener against an in-state opponent.. That's somewhat embarrassing if you ask me.

They discussed this on their rivals board. Said they automatically count a full student section and all season tickets to provide an automatic base of ___ thousand. Not going to go back and look, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
