I smell some good old Tallahassee home cooking getting started.

I predict this will all go away, quickly, and he's miss the first game, at MOST.  I am very confident that he'll play against us, as the lack of video evidence means witness can be found to clear Cook.  It'll be "he said, she said", charges dropped (or greatly reduced, with suspension lifted).

Shocking!

"An independent witness came forward after the release of the 911 call and directly refuted some details of the call and claims of another witness," Patel said.

I wonder what that one cost?

Honestly, that 911 call likely helps Cook more than it hurts him.  If this even goes to trial, that tape likely injects some reasonable doubt.

I'm guessing they resolve this soon, and he's on the field for our game...which sucks.

Holy Home Cookin', Batman!!  From the above story:

All members of the jury appear to be at least 40 years old. One of the jurors is a former attorney and another juror lives near a coach of a separate FSU athletic team. The non-football coach has close ties to head football coach Jimbo Fisher. The juror said the relationship with the non-football coach would not influence his decision-making process during the trial.

No doubt.  My first reaction was that he'd get the deck stacked, and maybe he did.  But the 911 call was suspect, and it appears there was enough other info to provide ample reasonable doubt.

Now, it's important to remember that not guilty isn't the same as innocent, so if Jimbo feels he did something wrong, he will hold him out for 1-2 games.

Ah, man, I almost typed that last sentence with a straight face!  Yeah, he'll be back on the team any moment now, if not already.

Justice system found him innocent

Evidence was terrible, at best.

Good choice.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
