  3. View this project $23 for 23 years of Bulls Football - Build the IPF Join the $23 for 23 fundraising effort to benefit USF Football and the Indoor Practice Facility. This crowdfunding effort is open to all members and guests. Feel free to forward to your Bulls friends and family. Targeted donation per person is $23 per ticket or more. Those seeking to make a significant donation and wishing to receive the tax benefit may reach out to Brad in order to provide appropriate info to the USF Athletics program. This effort grew from E.T.'s post of April 7, 2019: E.T.'s vision was what if every season ticket holder donated $23 for our 23rd season of USF Football? This would be significant if we could start on this board and spread this to all season ticket holders. Perhaps even some non-season ticket holders would contribute and even purchase tickets! This effort is approved by USF and Brad will provide full reporting to board member and Athletics staff member John Lewis. Donation Goal $10,000.00 Expiration Date 1 month and 17 days Submitter Brad Submitted 05/11/2019 Category USF Football

  5. To show how bad the depth was on D from last year. There are some guys who played significantly, but are silent now that CCS raided the portal and brought in his type of recruits. Names that I expect to transfer: Sanders and Roberts. I think Sawtelle's time will be reduced by the week, but could show up on special teams. I hear more about Sails than Hampton. Hampton is solid, I like that we finally have depth. I hope Burnett can play safety and corner, if Sails is eligible.

  9. I think puc never wants to worry about EVERY having to attend a Conf Championship Game on Championship Saturday nor having a full stadium for said game and have ABC broadcast it to the world. And since he doesn't want to make plans for that Championship Saturday, he obviously never ever wants to worry about traveling to a NYD6 Bowl Game and interrupting his exciting NYE plans. Pretend you don't care....and when you don't win...you can't be disappointed. (Thats for puc as obviously many of your fans do want to win and they do want to win conf championships which would mean they would have a shot at a NYD6 Game).
  10. Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst says no decision yet on starting QB JIM POLZIN jpolzin@madison.com 3 hrs ago The race for the University of Wisconsin football team’s starting quarterback job is still open, according to Paul Chryst. The Badgers coach was asked following practice Friday when he plans on making a decision about who will start the opener against South Florida on Aug. 30 — or if he already has made that decision. “I haven’t made anything,” Chryst said. “Monday, we’ll scrimmage again (and) probably after that we’ll kind of get an idea.” This should come as no surprise, but Chryst also admitted he’s probably not going to make his decision public. It’s worth noting that UW’s practices are closed to the media for the rest of camp. “We won’t probably announce anything,” he said. It’s still likely that junior Jack Coan, who started four games last season, will open the season as a starter. He’s been solid in the eight full practices open to the media the past two weeks and has drawn compliments from Chryst and quarterbacks coach Jon Budmayr for his approach and performance since the end of last season. 11. View this raffle Marlon Mack Auto'd 2017 Card USF Uniform 1 of 25 Bulls Football Crowdfund As part of the $23 for 23 crowdfund drive, here is a beautiful, and hard to find, card from Marlon's Mack rookie season in the NFL. It is a 2017 booklet card stored in open state safely and securely, in a plastic holder and bag. The right side of the card features Marlon's autograph underneath the word BULLS. This card is also limited in that it is number 17 of 25 - you can see the numbering on the back side of the card along with the certification of the autograph. This is, in my humble opinion, the best Marlon Mack card available. And it is only rarely found anywhere. This should be in the collection of any Bulls fan. Picture this next to your 2019 Marlon Mack bobble head. Shipping in a padded envelope is included for the winning ticket. 12. PFF Preseason 2019 All-AAC Team Read the article to see the second team selections, some Bulls there. Only Mike Hampton making first team, offense or defense. The article also has Ford as a second team running back which doesn't make sense given what we believe to be happening with where he plays. Link
  13. An older article from around the start of camp, but first I've seen it. He breaks down the wins. WARNING: This may be uncomfortable for some. Pat Zier: Bulls need quality win LINK
  14. BULLS GET IN A GOOD SCRIMMAGE IN BUCS' 'AWESOME' INDOOR FACILITY August 17, 2019 By TOM ZEBOLD USF Senior Writer TAMPA, AUG. 17, 2019 – The continuous rains that have hit the Tampa Bay area forced USF indoors for the Bulls' last big scrimmage of fall camp that took on an NFL-type feel thanks to a strong relationship with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With less than two weeks to go before the season kicks off, head coach Charlie Strong's Bulls were able to run through well more than 100 plays Saturday inside the Bucs' state-of-the-art indoor facility at the AdventHealth Training Center. "I just appreciate the Bucs for allowing us to come in and get our work in because it's been raining all week," Strong said. "… Overall, today was a lot of plays and a lot of good plays." Starting quarterback Blake Barnett(Corona, Calif.) made a fair share of those plays, throwing three touchdown passes and scrambling for first downs on the 100-yard FieldTurf playing surface. "We kind of got spoiled today coming in and being able to use the Buccaneers' facility," Barnett said. "This indoor, it's awesome. The turf is really nice." So was Barnett's final touchdown pass of the day, a 10-yard strike to starting running back Jordan Cronkrite, who made a diving, one-handed catch in the back of the end zone. Cronkrite (Miami) also picked up numerous first downs, including one on a 22-yard run, during a strong outing for the senior. "I'm really appreciative of the Bucs organization for letting us come here and practice with the bad weather outside. It's a beautiful facility," Cronkrite said. "… I've never even been to an NFL game before, so this was like my first time going to anything like this. It was a pretty great experience for me." Strong commended the Bulls as a whole for staying mentally tough throughout a very rainy week and making sure they put in the work for the season opener against Wisconsin that takes place in primetime at Raymond James Stadium on Friday Aug. 30. On Wednesday, for example, USF had to gear up for practice three separate times due to storms before practicing again the next day. "You hate it for our players because I may tell them one time and then I have to call them back and say, 'Hey, we can't come at this time. We have to come at this time because I think the storm is coming,'" Strong said. "I think once we get that facility built, then we won't have to worry about that." Strong noted fundraising progress has been "good" for the planned USF Football Center. Vice President Athletics Michael Kelly, who was in attendance at Saturday's scrimmage, said during the summer the program has logged more than $20 million in donations for the indoor training facility that will benefit all USF teams. "That would be something I think would help take this program and put it in a better opportunity to further succeed," Barnett added. "With that though, we're doing everything we can to make this team as good as possible. (Weather is) not holding us back from anything. It's just pretty much an annoyance at this time." Ford Built for Big Plays Sophomore Johnny Ford continued his fantastic fall camp at slot receiver Saturday, taking a screen pass the distance on a 36-yard touchdown connection from quarterback Jordan McCloud(Tampa). Ford (Miami) later showed of his elusiveness and speed, turning a short pass from Blake Barnettinto a 40-yard touchdown reception. "Bulls fans are pretty aware of the fact that if you get Johnny Ford in space, it's a dangerous sight," Barnett said. "He was able to do that today. He's been doing it all camp. He's been working really hard and continuously getting better at this offense and maturing as a young player as well." Rest of report including image gallery

  16. Meet Mike Hampton, USF's stud CB prospect By: Luke Easterling | August 13, 2019 12:20 pm ET Every year, when the NFL draft rolls around, all 32 teams are looking for complete prospects who can make big plays on the field, smart decisions off the field, and do all the little things in between to make both themselves and the team a success. Those qualities apply to every position, but especially to the game’s most important ones, including the corner spot. If your favorite NFL team is looking for that kind of corner in the 2020 NFL draft, USF’s Mike Hampton checks every box. A Tampa native who fell in love with football at four years old playing for a little league team coached by his father, Hampton played for one of the most legendary coaches in area history, Hillsborough’s Earl Garcia. “It was real big playing for him, because like you said, everybody knows him,” Hampton said of his time playing for Garcia. “That school, that history, that football program. He was known for sending his kids to college. What I got from him was just being a man. Ever since I came there as a freshman, he’s been on me since Day 1, and that’s stuck with me ever since.” Garcia’s track record continued with Hampton, who generated plenty of interest from big programs as a recruit. He garnered nationwide attention as one of the top corner recruits in the country, but ultimately spurned offers from Power 5 schools (Iowa, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Iowa State, Indiana) to stay home and play for the Bulls. 17. I'm going with Patrick Macon. It was a toss up on which was the worst group on Defense last year. The secondary was awful, but linebackers took the award. All the buzz that I have read so far has been about Studstill, Sails and Macon. That does not bode well for all the guys who were are returning.
  18. USF defensive coordinator: tackling greatly improved Brian-Jean Mary says his unit’s tackling is “probably the best thing we’ve done so far in camp.” By Joey Knight Published August 7 ... "I think our run defense is sounder than it was last year. Guys understand where they need to be and they’re straining to get there, and I think our tackling has been probably the best thing we’ve done so far in camp. “I know we struggled, we missed tackles last year, and we haven’t been in a scrimmage yet ... but I really believe we’re gonna tackle a lot better than we did last year.” ... But Jean-Mary indicated Wednesday that he believes his unit possesses more “quality depth” at every level. That includes linebacker, where safety Khalid McGee and defensive end Greg Reaves had to play out of necessity for all or parts of last season. More
  19. Hi All, DC alumni chapter president here! For anyone coming up for the Navy game in October, the chapter is planning to charter a bus or two from northern VA to Annapolis. Navy doesn’t sell bus parking without game tickets being purchased, so our bus package would include game tickets. The seats would be in the visitor section and near (if not the same section) as tickets through USF. Bus + game tickets would be about $65-70, with the price going down if we get more people. The Alumni Association is also having a tailgate that people can add on for an extra $35. Water, soda, and Jell-O shots will be provided by the chapter for those taking the bus. For anyone interested, please fill out our form (https://www.usfalumni.org/s/861/02-alumni/index.aspx?sid=861&gid=1&pgid=5080&cid=14899) and once we’ve gotten at least 40 interested, we’ll officially set up the bus. The bus would leave around 11 am from a metro stop in VA (we’re looking at also adding a stop at Union station in DC depending on cost), ride to Annapolis is about 45 minutes. If you aren’t interested in the bus, tickets will be for sale through USF in August for the game. Let me know if you all have any questions, hope you can make it up. October is perfect weather here, and Annapolis is beautiful. Genevieve
