  1. Alpharetta is your best bet, it's actually not far from Canton at all, and I believe still at Ale House on Mansell Rd off GA 400. Easy, maybe 20-25 min drive from Canton through back roads. I live in Buford on the NE side, pretty much opposite of you. . You're closer to Alpharetta than I am, though. The watch parties are usually geared more towards Bulls alumni that live near or inside the Perimeter. Jus' the way it is, I'm afraid. Do you attend the watch parties in Atlanta?
  2. With the Atlanta chapter being the largest outside the state of Florida, there are probably many fans in the same boat as you. It might be worth reaching out to the chapter so you can get your message out to the rest of the group. However, the group might not want to split up watch party locations since they just recently went from two locations to one. I pondered attending a few times last year but the thought of Atlanta traffic, and the distance I would have to drive, plus the fact I might consume an adult beverage or two made me think twice.
  3. I live in the Jasper, Ga area. The closet "big" city to me is Canton Ga., about 50 minutes NE of Atlanta. Are there any watch groups closer to this area than Atlanta, ie. Cumming/Alpharetta? Anyone want to start one? There is a nice sports bar in the Canton area called Sidelines Grill that would probably love the business and would be willing to host a group. Plenty of TV's for game day and the food and drink isn't bad either. I just don't want to be driving the distance home from Atlanta (Atlanta watch group) after consuming a few adult beverages.
  4. I don't post very often but I follow my Bulls everyday on this site. Not that my small donations will be missed, but the moment USF starts paying athletes, over and above their scholarships, my donations end. College sports, primarily football and basketball, have been pimped and prostituted to the point where I'm extremely close to not caring anymore..
  5. That was with a freshman QB in Teddy Bridgewater that went to UL over Miami because Clint Hurt went there. A Clint Hurt who possibly should be banned from coaching. Taggart is not going to do things like that, but it's time to burn some redshirts of players who might be able to play now though. Admittedly, I don't know the whole roster or who is waiting in the wings but could there be some validity in this statement? At this point, what's there to lose if a few redshirts are lost? Given the apathy I'm seeing and reading, it might give some people a sliver of hope of what USF is truly capable of in the future.
  6. Wow! Didn't expect this many responses. Greatly appreciated. I mentioned Meehan's to the bride and she didn't seem opposed to the idea. I just need to work on her a little more. It would be nice to meet some fellow Bull's fans up here. Admittedly I avoid Atlanta like the plague due to the traffic and I don't know anything about Meehan's or the area. Anybody willing to provide some input? The bride and I are closer to sixty than fifty and our hyper partying days are well past; not that we don't enjoy a good party now and then. Thanks again for the help.
  7. Thanks for the info. I've been up here six years and I've been to Atlanta one time. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and head on down.
  8. Does anyone know if there is a group that gathers at a sports bar to watch the Bulls around the northeastern section of Atlanta? I spoke with someone from the area last Thanksgiving and he mentioned that a group got together but I can't remember where they meet. Maybe somewhere around the Cumming/Alpharetta area. Up here sports bars are my only hope to watch them play.
  9. When I married my bride in 1980, she couldn't tell you how many quarters were in a game, or how long the field was. I secretly signed her up for a wife's clinic sponsored by the Bucs. She wasn't too thrilled at first. I think she realized that if she wanted any quality time with me from September to January she might want to get into the game a bit. When she completed the clinic she was a new person. She actually brought home the study material she was given and actually studied it as if she was in school preparing for an exam. Excited, and with a modicum of football knowledge, she became outright dangerous. The knowledge she gained also made it much more enjoyable for her as she watched our boys grow up playing youth and high school football. It's one f the best things I could have done for her, and me. She still has all her material from that clinic to this day. I strongly urge all ladies who have the chance to take a clinic like this to do so. It will be fun and you'll create a happy significant other.
  10. My son and daughter-in-law both graduated from USF. Daughter-in-law also received her Masters from USF. My son received his Masters from Emory Riddle.
  11. Ummm... NO EXCUSE: http://motor.etax.dor.ga.gov/motor/plates/platesamples.aspx Not an option anymore, it fell through, needed 1000 to sign up for one and didn't get it. I mentioned this vaguely earlier in the thread. Nope, says not issuing on the GA site. I did my part, ordered one for me and the wife... really wanted that plate on my Jeep. Don't have the Georgia USF plates. But my spare tire cover on my jeep is black with large USF letters adorning it. The wife has a USF front license plate on her car. Where'd you get it? I could use one of those... Did a search on the internet about spare tire covers and USF. Can't find the paperwork of the company I bought it from. It was really reasonable price wise ($30ish plus small shipping charge) and really looks sharp on a black jeep. It's been on two years now and has help up extremely well, still looks new. I'd take a picture of it but I wouldn't know how to add it to a post.

  13. This last Thanksgiving I met my son and daughter-in-law at the Cracker Barrel in Marietta for dinner. While waiting out the crowd I saw a fellow with a Buc shirt on and struck a conversation. Come to find out he was a USF alum as well. When we were seated, finally, we sat by a totally different group of people sporting USF gear, which started another nice conversation. We are definitely out there. To anyone around the NE portion of Atlanta, the first person I spoke with mentioned a USF group that meets on Saturdays at a sports bar for Bulls football. For the life of me I can't remember where it was. Somewhere around Roswell/Cumming I thnk. Anyone know? I'd gladly make the drive to join the group.
  14. The wife and each had one on our cars until we moved to North Georgia. Still have them as keepsakes though.
  15. Slick. Bull's alumni here. I too am excited about Kennesaw State getting football since I live up in the Jasper area. Think they get going in 2014. They will never replace my Bulls, but it will give me something to do on Saturdays. Who knows, with some of the smaller schools USF has scheduled lately, maybe we'll get to see them up here.
