    A lot of really close games in a weaker conference are somewhat tempering my expectations. Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

    I remember being at the BYU game and saw the coaching staff utilizing signs to signal what defense they were running. While our defense was looking at the signs, BYU was running their next play. I knew it was going to be a long year after seeing that. I'm betting that it was more about dumb coaching decisions than our players' abilities.

Mike Brey reportedly lands coaching job at USF before Notre Dame introduces his successor Mike Brey didn't want it to end the way it ended this year at Notre Dame, so he's back in college coaching at USF, where a tough task awaits. Can he do it?

    I have that same feeling. A lot more intensity and players saying the would run through a brick wall for CAG is definitely a favorable change.

    The problem I see with Deion would be sustainability. We would get a ton of 4-5 star recruits while he's here, but once he left for what he thinks is a better job, our best players would transfer and the recruiting would go back to the doldrums (like JSU is seeing right now). It would've been fun to see in the short term, but long term we are better off with a solid X's and O's coach that can actually build a tradition for high-octane offenses. We were on our way there with CWT but CCS took a sledgehammer to that. I knew we were in trouble once CCS said he was going to slow down the offense so the defense could have time to take a drink...

    We like the hires and almost all of them turned out to be crap. Maybe it’ll turn out better if we don’t like the hire!

    That would ease a lot of fan disappointment with not getting Deion. CAG was a pleasant surprise for me. I was just hoping it wasn’t going to be Manny Diaz. CAG, from what I’m hearing, is an intense dude that gets the most from his players. Total opposite of CJS. He’s also worked on the defensive side of the ball so that also gives me some comfort.

    Much better hire than Chadwell in my honest opinion. I’m actually optimistic about this one as long as we get a solid DC.
