    You, know you're right. I keep on thinking Senat was on the O-line for some reason. I guess when they lost to the gnats; they lost me. They deserve more credit than I give them (last year's defense).

    Here's the thing about the defense. If you are going to be one of the most penalized teams in the country (last year?), you have to play really aggressively and be talented (we were not!). I think that philosophy is being changed. Against GT, I saw a really disciplined team. Going forward, I think they will play better and better. If you are going to play like Leavitt's teams in the past, you have to have the talent to back it up. We just haven't had that. How many defensive guys do we have in the NFL right now from recent years?

    So, we know BB is very good and the offense has a lot of weapons. The defense is coachable: they listened to the coaches and played their hearts out. Let's say that GT was Navy when Navy was ranked (both programs play the same kind of nightmarish offense -no disrespect to either program). Reminded me of that game a few years ago. 2016 @ #22 Navy. We won 52-45. So, now, how good are we? Are we top 25 material?

    I watched GT against some teams from last season, including the Miami game and the Georgia game. GT is basically the same team on offense. The first Q is going to be important. If USF gets points and keeps the lead, things will bode well. Zero-Zero after the first Q, the game is going to get really close. Basically, this is Barnett and the offense's game. They need to score and score plenty (more than 21 pts). I think GT is going to be very surprised at how good our offense is going to be.

    This week against GT will tell a great deal about our football coaching staff. GT will bring no secrets; they are going to play their game. If our coaches can put together a winning plan, the team will do well. Let's hope our players can execute well the whole game.

    All the pressure in on GT to win the game --on the road. Look at their schedule. Tell me the Bulls are not going to fly around on D and play USF football.

    Tonight, it's going to be great to see if the ca$h is in US currency or in Venezuelan Bolívar.

    Here's the interesting thing. Louisville wasn't ranked and had like 3 votes in the preseason AP poll. And then they got pummeled by bama, so they will never see the light of day this week (things change from week to week!). My point here is that we shouldn't expect so much about votes and whatnot when a program like Louisville is overlooked.

    What I like about BB (beyond the fact that he's accurate and all of that) is that he looks like he can handle himself and not like Mike White. Mike had "handle with care" on his back.

    I think the coaches let the players played to see how they do individually and then make adjustments after the first real game. Plus, Elon had huge people. I was very surprised by their size on offense. When you come up against that size and you don't scheme well, you get pushed around. That's what happened to us.

    After game 1, I think life after Flowers at QB is good. That was a tall order, but I think we are good to go! Amen. Kicking, that's not looking too bad. So, it's now up to the defense to pick it up. But if we can score, the D will have more time to time to work on their improvements. The season is going to be pretty good.
