  1. Ditto on the lying. If a class short, maybe, but 10 credit hours that he never finished that summer after walking? Deliberate deceit, easy to let go. 10 hours appears to be conjecture. I don't think anyone who really knows, is actually speaking out... If only Masiello would set the record straight with all the details. Hmmmmm.
  2. 10 credits short....he would have have to be a moron to think he earned a degree. Liar, liar.... where did it say 10 credits short? Per ESPN ... According to multiple sources, Masiello is about 10 credits shy and will take classes to finish his degree in the next couple of months. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/10745611/manhattan-jaspers-keep-coach-steve-masiello thanks...I hadn't seen that one, but how on earth did they let him walk if he was 10 credits shy? is that common? The school I went to, McMaster University in Canada holds their graduation ceremonies in June. You get an invitation after grades are finalized and your graduation is confirmed. Here at USF I have seen multiple students walk the day after final exams finished that both I and the student knew were not meeting the graduation requirements. Usually they would need a couple summer courses or to take care of a procedural hurdle. In one case at the college of medicine a student was allowed to walk, after begging the dean, with the class she started with even though she needed an entire year of coursework to graduate. So yes, I would say it is common, at least at schools where they hold the ceremonies before grades can be finalized and graduations confirmed.
  3. Not really sure Booger is anti-USF, per se, more just an elitist SEC assclown ... He's horrible. Never before has Rich Herrera been the smartest guy in a room Tampa area sports radio is abysmal.
  4. Cue the "have to have a hole in your head to coach USF basketball" jokes.
  5. Wait a minute, I love that idea! Which, the 300 pages or locking it? The 300 pages.
  6. How is this even a question? Of course someone can be worse than Stan. It can always get worse. The great truth about life!
  7. I'm not cheering for anyone or paying attention to the tourney. However I have two favorite teams, USF & whoever is playing UF.
  8. My dad who lives in Canada called me today, they even heard about Masiello up there.
  9. 21-14 4:19 in 1st half. Watching ESPN Gamescast.
  10. He duped them, he made us look like chumps. I'm reminded of the "Holtz has several major programs interested" duping. At least Rice actually had conversation(s) with USF. Press did the same lazy parroting of leaks and each other without verifying anything in either case.
  11. I agree ... with the money we're paying them they need to utilize mind readers in the process. I appreciate the humor, but that is their job. And how exactly do you determine if they're lying about the interest? By using the experience, expertise and judgement that made you worth $60k to conduct the search. They take the money, the buck stops with them. I get what you're saying, but whatever their process is isn't looking so great. Regardless of whether it is their fault or not it is their job to get us a head coach and they aren't doing the job. I don't do my job I either find a way to start taking care of issues that aren't my fault or I'm out of that job. Once is chance, twice is a coincidence, third time is a pattern. The pattern is almost upon them.
  12. Unfortunately I think most of these leaks are from the candidate's side: Pitino opening his mouth about Masiello, and the UNLV AD about Rice. There's not much that can be done about that Squealers sleep with the fishes?
  13. When you take the check it really doesn't matter why things go bad, what matters is that things do go bad and you get the praise or the criticism regardless of whether it is warranted. The search firm took the check, things have gone south twice, they are going to get the criticism. They'd get the praise if through no workings of their own the greatest coach in the world decided USF was the place he wanted to be. Whether it's their fault or not, they are leading the search for a coach and the search hasn't gone very well. This also confirms to me why I have avoided Twitter and think it is the most useless thing ever.
