Herman is a Texas retread. He wouldn't have worked out for us either (Even though I wanted him or Chadwell).

Strong won a NY6 as well.

USF football is cursed.

My optimism about this team was misplaced. This defense stinks.

Think USF was sleepwalking this week. Young team experiencing success for the first time, playing a 1-4 team...they were not prepared. Overall a very careless and sloppy game all around.

Hopefully this is a reality check for the team. Still think USF should have some success the rest of the year, just can't take any team for granted.

I stand by my comments after going for it near our own 30. That's a bad call. I'm all for being aggressive but sometimes you have to punt it away. Muffed punt was U G L Y too.

That said, that's really all I have to complain about. Great win.

This is an awful game.

2. I don't see how they confirmed Navy had it in bounds.

Bad start.

Former DC at Texas and USC, as well as Florida ties from FAU and FIU for recruiting.

Seems like a solid choice to me. If USF could get a top 30 or 40 defense this year would have been quite a bit different.

I'll backtrack a bit knowing that he calls the offense.

Also, looks like the hire annoyed McMurphy, (seems like Golesh was spugh after and McMurphy was surprised he went with USF) so maybe it isn't so bad.

I still can't believe we missed on so many coaches with experience though. Yikes.

His team losing over the past few weeks couldn't mean less, they know he is leaving. No doubt it impacts the preparation.

Guy has been stellar for years...you can't bring him down based on a few games, whether he comes to USF or not ( he won't ).

I'm panicked now. Sounds like Chadwell turned us down mid week. 

USF is cursed. Being a fan is suffering.

While I take Pete Thamel as gospel, I think him to Liberty is a lateral move at best, though I'm not sure how they can pay $4 million a year.. Doesn't make much sense to me. I'm holding out hope until they make an announcement.

Diaz would be a disaster.

Herman to FAU is a massive hire for them.

At this point we better have Deion or Chadwell. Otherwise that's a big miss.

Only hope I have (based on no evidence whatsoever) is that USF gave Deion an offer and a deadline. If he doesn't accept by Monday we move on to someone else.

No doubt he has a couple offers on the table, and more likely coming with all the firings this weekend. 

Odom would be an odd pick for sure though.

Battie is definitely a beast. Really wish our defense gave us a chance

I know it should be obvious on for a 1-9 team but this is really awful.

USF has fallen so far. A few sparks of hope but otherwise a team that completely lacks fundamentals and football IQ. Able to snatch defeat from victory in a moment, and this was in Scotts third year!

Better days ahead for sure, and Brown is having a good game, so there is that.

Well that was a fun drive.

He would be an amazing hire but I'm not sure he would have any interest.

Even before his controversy, Gruden was a bum.

Won a SB with Dungy's team and ran the franchise into the ground after that. If some unlucky pro team wants to bring him in, go right ahead. He would be a disaster in college and I would never want him at USF.

Where does this mindset that we should expect a few wins come from?

USF isn't playing in the SEC. The conference is bad and is only going to get worse. Being a middling team in a bad conference is not a huge success, I don't care what year it is.

None.

Our next HC should be bringing in their people, not be tied to a previous (terrible) regime.

Herman could be great. My only concern is that the success that he has had was in recruiting Texas. Probably ignorance on my part but I don't know if he has any ties to FL. We need someone that can keep some of the big FL recruits home.

Would not say no to him at all though. Got huge recruits at Houston. Got Texas out of their Charlie Strong funk, and runs a great offense. People say he is an ******* but that doesn't matter to me, just win baby.

So happy that this nightmare is over.

Deion is a pipe dream, though.
