  1. I've been informed a good friend of mine (he is a Miami fan, so this is to be taken with three pinches of salt and a side of stampeded and grilled ibis), that you can buy tickets pretty much anywhere in the lower bowl and then move where you want. On Stubhub I'm seeing tickets for as low as 20 in the lower bowl. Pity we don't have five or six more wins-we'd have a Bulls home game in Miami.
  2. My brother (Miami alum) and I are working out plans for going. The issue is that he's up at FSU for grad school, so I have to convince him that he doesn't have to drive the entire 8 hour way down. We're going with some of his friends (and hopefully some of mine).
  3. Hehe. One of my old friends in Student Government is now in Student Affairs up there. She's very proud of what they're doing so far, but she is and always will be the best of Bulls .
  4. Why would they mention he went to a Big East school on SportsCenter? Aside from that, he's giving USF a great boost. I wonder what it would have been like had Leavitt still been here to exploit that link.
  5. I have to agree. The national anthem is meant to inspire a sense of pride, respectfulness, and energy, and last night it certainly did that despite the small crowd.
  6. I will reserve judgment till I see him in action on every snap. One of the things about new QBs is that no one really knows who they are until they play multiple games. Surprisingly, Miami isn't that bad a defensive situation to walk into. They've allowed 2216 rushing yards this year at 5.13 yards per carry. We'll be able to use the running game to slow down the game for Floyd and/or Eveld. The downside? Their passing defense is as good as the running defense is bad, despite only having 10 sacks (lot of pressure?). Floyd and/or Eveld will probably have a lot of safe throws, but they've allowed just 7 TD passes against 8 interceptions. Useful statistics site-http://www.cfbstats.com/2012/team/415/index.html
  7. We have under 15k. The student section isn't even half full.
  8. No kidding. B.J. and the run game SHREDDED that vaunted Syracuse run defense for 369 yards. This is a defense that was coming into the game allowing 116 yards per game.
  9. You all might burn me in effigy for this one, but I've got one thing that I'm going to put on B.J. in this game. NO doubt all of you recall the fumble in the third quarter that led to the Syracuse touchdown to put them up 24-23. I looked at that hand off-the RB didn't have control of the ball at any point during the exchange. That one may well have been partly on B.J. Aside for that, he played a very competent game and worked to put the team in winning position repeatedly-which is about what you want from a senior QB. I don't think I can understate his ability in the fourth quarter.
  10. This is somewhat off topic, but I absolutely agree. You can bet Latvala over in St. Pete is about to start gunning for his own university. As some will remember, he's that guy who's son went to UCF and hates USF, and from what I've seen of Latvala in person, he has no problem hammering Dr. Genshaft's leadership on the tampa campus. It'll be a harder fight, since St. Pete is so close by, but you can bet Latvala may be trying to line up a little University retirement of his own for when he gets term-limited out.
  11. Let's keep it going then dude. I dunno if you're going to RSVP to the event on Facebook, but even if you don't try inviting your friends.
  12. Whatever way it is guys, don't be in your seats till USF or Syracuse is under center. A message needs to be sent.
  13. I'm hoping for a noon game too-I have a wedding to attend that weekend and there might be a preparty the night before....
  14. I'm well aware of the debate we are having over supporting the team versus being angry at Skip and wanting to show our displeasure towards him. That said, I've decided that we start to do something about it. I am starting a kickoff boycott. I want the depths of our displeasure towards Skip Holtz to be known! Please. It's just one kickoff. After that we can go into the stadium and cheer on our team. To that end, I've started a Facebook event for this. If you're in, please join our event. Ask all your friends to come with us too. It's time for a show of force-where the fans make their displeasure known to USF athletics in a tangible way. https://www.facebook.com/events/178815395588319/ Also-if you don't live here, but agree with the idea behind the event, I ask that you join the event on Facebook anyway-it should help send a message.
  15. Hargreaves hasn't shown the ability to manage both Special Teams and Defensive Ends, what makes you think he could run a full team and staff? Sorry, off topic. Honestly, if we were going to go with Patrick as interim HC, he's either have to do really well or we'd take a major risk with losing him to another program as DC. I can't see him accepting a demotion to even DC on this staff if he's the interim head coach. Does anyone know of coaches accepting a demotion in the same program? Put Patrick as an interim DC, hopefully he removes the "interim" from his name at the end of the year. After that, put someone else in as interim HC-perhaps Shankweiler? He's a decent recruiter and might be able to help keep large parts of our class together. I'd consider Fitch considering he's probably part of the reason we landed Woulard as a recruit, but under his command B.J. has been at best an effective game manager-not someone who can win games for you-that's not what I want in a Head Coach.
  16. I just graduated last December and am now a season ticket holder. I'm beginning to think I should't renew either. They won't fire Skip until they realize he's too costly to keep on. Bring on Petrino. He might have the moral integrity of a noodle, but he'll win games-and it'll be a while before another BCS conference takes him after the way he was booted from Fayetteville. Sides, haven't we had success with picking up coaches from Arkansas?
  17. I hope I wasn't one of them. I'm glad I went, even if I was outnumbered.
  18. I felt the same thing. I was wondering to myself "am I at an FSU home game or a USF one?". I booed everytime I heard their war chant, but I felt like I was the only one. I was lucky to only have three FSU fans in my row and a Bull on either side of me. Fortunately, the ones that were there weren't loudmouths, but this was painful. Had it been a 4-0 or even 3-1 USF team, I don't think this would have been such a lopsided affair people wise. That said, it won't ever happen again unless Miami is a NC contender someho next year. FSU made a VERY rare exception to come to Tampa. I can't see the Gators ever doing it unless we're in the SEC with them.
  19. Agreed. Sometimes I wondered if I was sitting at an FSU home game...if the split was 50/50 it sure as hell didn't feel like it.
