I don't see the logic in that.

We don't know if he could have taken us further as the program was still in building stages.  And the fact that Brett McMurphy was able to run wild with a non-incident is why he is not coaching.  Take away that spectacle and other schools would take him in a minute.  Had he only locked the miscreant up in a broom closet.

Leavitt got plenty of offers to leave USF.  To make comments that he hasn't held a HC job because of his ability is unsubstantiated and laughable.   He's got image damage.  Just like that turd Dennis Dodd writing a hit piece on him years after he left.  He pissed off the local media and we know how they close ranks.  He has suffered dearly.  The biggest criticism, and his AD wasn't courageous to step in, he didn't know what fighting with the media means.

As Mark Twain once said, “Never argue with a man who buys ink by the barrel.”

To state that only his image damage prevented him from getting HC jobs over the last 13 years is just as laughable. It is college football. If you can make a team win many things get looked over.

  2. I love that people always shout LEAVITT at any opening for USF. I was a student during his tenure and he was exciting for sure. Where he did get those exciting wins over Auburn, West Virgina, etc. we never won our conference. We always had that horrible end of the year slide etc. I think Leavitt took us as far as he could. That is supported by the fact that he hasn't held a HC position since leaving USF.

We need to look to the future and stop thinking about how great we had it with that one girl we dated years ago. There are decent candidates and even some great ones out there. I say it's time the school pays the big bucks for a great grab that will turn this program around quick.

Glad to hear they did right by you they probably should have led with selling you on the move first instead of sending you a form email expressing the communal benefits to forcing your relocation to avoid the initial outrage

Probably not wrong. Maybe combine the message of why the move and the benefits of moving but alas all is well again. @John Lewis Your team, specifically Conner, did a great job.

  4. Since I started this thread I find it my responsibility to post an update. I have now spoke with my ticket rep Conner. He was awesome and we did get some benefits for moving. Afterwards I am a little excited about the move. He was also able to keep the group that sits next to us moved to the same place too.

Logistically, that area makes the most sense for recruits and how they spend their entire time at RJS.

They will not be using 2 entire sections, but certain rows within each.

In that case couldn't they simply pick rows with no season ticket holders in them? Those sections are usually pretty empty.

  6. So I have never been to a USF baseball game. However with renewing my football tix I got the Baseball and Softball tickets. What are the rules on tailgating? I will likely bring my trailer to weekend games and grill out.

    1. How long can we tailgate prior to game?

    2. How much is parking?

    3. Where should I park? Keep in mind I will have the trailer

    4. Beer/alcohol allowed at the tailgates?

Agree with no to the trailer but wear the USF gear proudly, (or as proud as you can considering the state of the program).  I would not hide nor shy away from a bunch of ignorant rednecks.  My only recommendation is to leave early if we are taking a beating, no need to subject yourself to the abuse both on and off the field.

Yeah It is a good idea to leave the trailer at home.

I too, have gone each year of the series.  I have tailgated with ucf people and USF people.   Aside from the idiot drunk students (Which we have at our games), it's a good time.  I would leave trailer at home.  I do not think this game will be attended by ucfers as much as in the past, and of course we will not represent very well either.  The stadium may reach 1/2 capacity.

So my experience is while yes they are a bit overbearing it is usually good natured. I am a big guy though so I understand my experience may be different than others.

Still on the fence here. Have to rally the troops. As for the parking and a trailer, most of that parking will already be taken up by their Alumni/boosters in the gold zones. Im sure for a fee you could find a spot though.

We usually go early park up at the church off McCulloch (if that is still a thing)

    Travel and Parking

We usually have a good time. I have mistakenly done the garage before and I choose not to this time. We have parked near campus and hung out with some friends that are UCiF fans. Had a good tailgate. We might do that again this year. I was mostly curious to see if there was a place on or near campus that is where the Bulls fans show up.

  10. Like I just told my son who didn't get picked for his Middle School basketball team. Keep practicing and prove it to them next year.

USF has not done anything to prove to any conference that we would be a great add. However I see progress in the football team. There is still some young team mistakes being made in play calling etc. That said the team is keeping their head in the game and did so against some high ranked teams at the start of this season. On top of that we have upgraded some facilities, broke ground on the IPF and restarted the conversation about the OCS. What we can do now is focus on the games. Keep pushing to improve play calling and recruiting and then prove to them that it is our time to move up. The door does not shut as we have learned. Too many people panic that this is our only chance. Poor decisions are made in a panic. Need to play the long game.
