    This is the first I am hearing of this but it would be awesome. The Claw is rarely used and maybe USF Golf could make a deal with the Tampa Palms Country Club to use their course. It is right next door.

    I have 4 kids between the age of 17-21 so I have looked at a lot of schools in Florida. My wife and I discouraged USF due to it being too close to home. If I was being honest, another reason was the lack of student life on (no OCS) and off - no night life or college town shops or restaurants. You step off campus and you are in suitcase city or temple terrace. With the AAU status, new dorms, new stadium and the new development that comes with it USF is shaping up to be a near perfect school (I am happy to list why I feel that way). That is with or without an ACC invite.

    This is how I've always felt. I actually live near USF and I hate driving to Ray Jay. It's a great stadium, no doubt, but it's a professional stadium dedicated to the bucs and we are guests there.

    I can't imagine there are any guarantees in this environment. I wouldn't be surprised if they were told not having a stadium hurt their chances.

    This is hubris on their part. I get it, I am sure they have gotten it into their heads they would dominate in any league but there is no denying they have had an easier path.

    Is cultural fit still a thing these days? To answer my own question I guess I can see a common profile in the leagues. How does USF stack up academically against Washington State and Oregon State? (or UCONN for that matter)

    18 is really young. Their judgment is not where it needs to be to make certain decisions. I don't know if you recall the dumb things you did at 18, but I do. And it's really not a question of education or a class on financial literacy. It's a judgment call, they lack the wisdom. Add to that, there are a lot of scammers and universities that will take your money and give you a useless degree. It's a feeding frenzy. When I was in the army there were all these rent to own places and used car lots that would lock these unprepared 18-year-olds into upside down loans on cars and furniture. The interest rates could be as high as 25%

    Yea, they are not making the best decisions at that age and don't understand ROI or interest rates. It is a total scam. I have kids in college and they are oblivious - which is what their old man is for.

    But we are not leaving the AAC without a league ready to accept us which seems like the case. It feels like there is bad blood. Same response, they don't have offers so it feels more like they just want out. Also, the bolded section I could not agree more. Are they on the cusp now of getting that kind of money from a league? This feels like someone wanting to quit their job. I always tell people to have a job lined up before quiting - unless you really really hate their job and it is affecting their health or something. FSU is quiting without a job lined up as far as I can tell. They are a great candidate but it hurts their negotiating power.

    Fair enough. So why does FSU and Clemson hate being in the ACC so much? Aside from this year they had pretty reasonable access to the championship game.

    Maybe they can help secure a better deal for the conference with the new additions? Clemson and FSU make a pretty decent swap for Oklahoma and Texas.

    I assume it is cancer but the illness has not been released. If you are hospice that usually means you have less than 6 months to live. It is easy to get pissed at people but this is all just football.

    That is not quite how I remember it.

    We should be dominating it year after year if we expect to move up. Hopefully we can build on this.

    This got me thinking. Clearly tradition is out the window and it's all about the money, how long before schools start selling their mascots? Like the fighting Irish mascot wearing a Guinness T-shirt. Texas could promote the Texas Longhorn Steakhouse.
