Raymond James construction cost $169m in 1997 dollars. That's $320m in 2023 dollars. We can't build 2/3 of RayJay with the same modern amenities for our $300m?? Granted I am no construction guru or project manager in the biz so don't know what else has changed or if construction costs are just way out of line with inflation calculators.
Raymond James had a 160mil renovation from 2016-2018.
It also had several smaller renovations in the 20-40mil range prior to the 2009 Super Bowl.
Also, the seats had to be replaced because the color faded because the stadium was made so cheaply.
Off topic, for those that are complaining, there is still a bunch we don’t know. We don’t know how many seats will be seats vs bleachers, we don’t know what the concourses will look like. We don’t know how nice the clubs will look.
Also, people are massively underestimating how nice it will be to have open concourses where you can still see the game. That is a game changer and I don’t think the other stadiums people keep mentioning have that and hardly any have shade.

Does anyone have a video link to the BOT meeting?

I always thought it was bad for USF, when we were against UCF joining the Big East. They are our natural rival and I want to beat them on the field, not in politics.
I understand competing for recruits, but it was great for both programs in the years both teams were good.
I grew up in Orlando, most of my family lives in Orlando and moved back a few years ago. I used to hate Bianchi, but he has matured a lot over the years.

Back in January, there was an investigation opened involving a 1 car accident on the campus of ole miss.
It resulted in the death of 1 person and Malique Ewin was at the center of that investigation.
He didn’t play after that and I can’t find anything on what actually happened and what the result of that investigation was.
I hope he wasn’t at fault and that he was cleared of any wrong doing.

This was somewhat of a rebuilding year after losing Corrick and they still won 32 games. They should be back to a top team next year as long as their two freshman pitchers continue to develop.
Is Ponn coming back?

I mentioned this in a different thread, but I think the student section should be Standing Room Only Wall like Orlando City.
Also, we should look to at Soccer stadiums in-general for inspiration. I find most new college football stadiums to be cookie cutter, new stadiums in other sports do a better job of creating open concourses with the field visible.
They are also designed up, not out which makes the higher levels feel closer to the field and helps keep in the crowd noise.

When QBs complete pass we don’t just say he completed 15 passes, we say he went 15 for 26
Attendance should be the same. 35k distributed, 30k attended.
Also, we should talk about ticket revenue more. If let’s say UAB has 30k in attendance but the average ticket price is $10, that’s 300k revenue. If we are 25k at $20, that’s 500k revenue.
There isn’t just one metric, we should talk about all key metrics.

I rather have 30k in a 35k stadium, then 40k in a 65k stadium.
Also, I am pretty sure they will design it to be expandable. They have said that one side will be open, that an easy place to expand.

Has anyone mentioned we should have a standing only student section in the end zone, like Orlando City’s Wall?
It would cut down costs and most students don’t want to sit anyways. It would be unique to college football and add to the electricity.
Chances of making march madness?

This site has an interesting breakdown of the odds. It gives us a 2.1% chance of making the tournament and a 2.1% chance of getting an Automatic Bid (Winning the AAC tournament). Essentially our only chance is winning the tournament and the odds are 2.1%. I would consider that a longshot
It doesn't say at 22 wins, there is a 12% chance of making the NCAA tournament, and 22% at 23, but it only goes up 36% at 25 wins
The site predicts we will win 17.8 games, so I am assuming it's giving us a near-zero chance to win 22 games which would only slightly increase our odds
The second link breaks down further, the chance of winning the AAC tournament
