But this is two seperate D coordinators 2 years in a row. Something is missing. One thing is strength. Our guys just look small. I see these DB's from other schools and they all have guns. Our guys just dont look that way
Well if we have a smaller dline, they should play gap type of defense. During our hey day our defenses was smaller. But they played tough and fast. These guys playing soft and slow.

To those who haven't played organized Sports. Let me explain one of the issues on the defensive side of the ball. It looks like our players thinking and not reacting. And not being able to play 100% all out. Thus making our players a step or two slower than our opponents. If you noticed how our players look to the sidelines for the defensive calls, giving the "what the call or hurry up signal". And they usually get the calls right before the offense take the snap. Thus having our players not set. Or trying to figure out where they should be. To correct this issue, they should simplify the defense. We already getting our doors blown off. Just let them line up and play.

There's not one QB that will make a difference if the defense sending 2-3 players on blitzes. And we sending our WRers out on long routes over 10 yards.

They did call them. The screen got blown up, we cant catch slants and the OL gets blown up too fast for the delay to go anywhere.
Well you just can't have your WR running 15-20 down field when the defense is sending extra 2-3 defenders. And that's what's going on.

Play all freshman. Sit these guys. Who cares we suck anyway. Make a point and see what freshman will catch ball
This not solely on the players. The coaches not putting the players in position to be successful. On defense the players play like they don't know what to do. On offense, we keep getting blitzed. What do you do to blitzes? You shorten the offense. A lots of screen plays. Quick slants. Delay hand offs. We doing none of those things.

And here I thought the new DC and new recruits would make a difference. Almost on every play, the entire defense looking at the sidelines with their arms up right before the offense snaps the ball. That tells me they're not playing freely. You can't play sports and thinking about what you need to do. They can't play reactionary.

This is so painful to watch. Like I said last week. All a team have to do is run it down our throats. It took the Florida Gators the final two possession to figure that out. Thats why I said if they would've went into overtime, we would've loss.

Are you referencing the 3rd and 20? Probably not the best play call there, but I have few qualms with the play calling tonight.
No, the final drive. Did they call their best plays to try and win the game. I'm in the belief that you owe your kids the opportunity to win the game. Let all your bullets go out your playbook.

I have questions. Did we call our best plays on that final drive? Did we run the ball to play for overtime, or to win the game?

What are you talking about? We were around their 20 with a second down play and 50 seconds left. We were right where we needed to be to score and leave them no time to come back - then the snap. We were in perfect shape.
Again, USF was playing for the tie. Not for the win. Florida offense had complete momentum the last two drives. There's no reason to play for the overtime. They could not stop Florida's run game.

Nonsense. Did you watch that game? We were in position to win, but after the bad snap, you’re playing for the tie. You’re not going to convert a 3rd and 20. You’re more likely to throw a pick or take a sack and be totally out of FG range.
How many pass attempts we had in the final possession?

A bit harsh, did you not see the deep ball down the sidelines right before GBs pick? That was playing to win. Who knows what would have happened without the bad snap, I suspect 2nd and 3rd down would have been the best plays we could possibly throw at them. Would have preferred an outside run on 3rd down, but the bad snap on 2nd took the momentum.
Not a CJS fan, but this was by far his best coaching job.
I've watched and coached too many games to no that if you're over matched, and lost momentum. You call your best plays and not put the ball back in the other teams possession. I did not want them to run the clock out like they was trying to do in the final minutes. We should have tried to score a touchdown. We was getting blown off the line the last two Florida possessions. Luckily the second to the last possession we intercept the ball. So if we would've tied the game there's no way we could have matched them touchdown for touchdown.

I am so pissed. The coaches did not read the momentum. If they would've tied, Florida would've ran it down our throats. We should've played for the win. No, we played to freaking lose game.

THEY CAN NOT FREAKING TACKLE!! This pissing me off. I don't know how much longer I can put myself through this.

When will Judy come out to defend the University? And let the world know that the judge comments about the University was unfair and insulting to the great students that represent USF. And demand an apology.

Here's to hoping CCS keeping this train moving forward.

Can't blame him if he left. You come to college for a career. Plus he can't risk injury.

Between Texas footing half of the bill and Skip Holtz coming off the books, yeah... I think we can afford him and a pretty good staff.
Gee I hope so. That's been the stigma around college football about USF coaching job.

Charlie Strong will be looking at the allotted payout for his assistance. And that could hurt us. They would have to match Temple and Baylor. Or at least come close to matching. That is USF's biggest hang-up. A lot of coaches want this job. But can we afford it?

USF budget has got to get better.

Trick plays is a sign of respect.

Wow! We really have a thread for this. We have a better chance at getting him as HC. That's if/when Willie leaves the program. And it could be this year. Plus USF would have to loosen the purse stings to get qualified assistants on this team. That's the stigma around the country about USF. They're cheap, and a coach must come in and create miracles. NO HIGH END COACH would come in risking there career on that. Plus I wouldn't want the team to change to offensive system anyways. I would pray we keep the same offensive system. It works. Our defense system needs work.
Interesting late offer to QB
