  1.

Renewed mine last week...I think that makes it 17 straight years, since inception, of 8 seats.

How many others do we have that have held them the entire time and since the beginning?

    Count me as one.

Another here. Have my inaugural game tickets framed in my office and a shirt with the 80-3 score on it. At times, it seems like yesterday....and at times, it seems like it was forever ago.

  2. Let me ask regarding the new BCS Bowl situation, a certain conference winner doesn't automaticly go to a specific bowl, correct ?

We could go Orange or Sugar, etc ... right ?

WVU went Sugar and L'ville is going Orange.

Some conferences are still contracted to play in specific bowls:

"Unless they qualify to play in the NCG, the champions of selected conferences are contractually committed to host selected games:

     Atlantic Coast Conference-Orange Bowl

     Big Ten Conference-Rose Bowl

     Big 12 Conference-Fiesta Bowl

     Pac-10 Conference-Rose Bowl

    Southeastern Conference-Sugar Bowl

If a bowl loses a host team to the NCG, then such bowl shall select a replacement team from among the automatic-qualifying teams and the at-large teams before any other selections are made. "

We could go to the Sugar or Orange as a non-host team.

  3. I thought that the seats were going to be more uncomfortable than they were.  If I sat the whole game, I might think differently. Luckily, up in row 65, we could stand as much as we wanted and we had the wall to use as a seatback.

All of my complaints seemed to fade away as the clock ticked down to :00.

  4. Just got our tickets!!  A little disappointed by the location - sec 35, row 65.  That's 5 rows from the top of the section.  :-[   Hoped we would be closer to the field - we're more than the minimum $100 a year donation level season ticket holder, not $5,000 but more than the minimum.

Still excited about the game though!! ;D

Where are some of you seating?

Same section and row. Section 35, row 65. Like someone said, it is much closer to midfield than we had in Charlotte, so I'm still pretty stoked.

  5. We all know the system is ridiculous and corrupt, so let's fix it. I'll go 1st....

    1) NO MORE POLLS.

I know a lot of people don't like polls, but if it were to be based completely from W-L records, every title-hopeful would be scrambling to play the bottom teams. The UCF athletic department phones would be going crazy! They could fill up their schedule for years.

    2) The number of games in the regular season is irrelevant, really. But your last game will be played on Thanksgiving weekend. The following weekend is conference title weekend......which leads me to #3.

Why would the number of games be irrelevant? Can one team only play 9 games and another play 12? I think this would have to be standardized somehow.

    5) The 6 BCS conference title game winners will get in, AND get a bye week.

    6) During this bye week for the others, the C-USA winner vs MAC winner will determine the 7 or 8 seed and the WAC winner vs Mountain West winner will determine the 7 or 8 seed.

The advantage for the mid-majors is the exposure and revenue that those games would gain for those programs. What better way to  hype a TCU vs Boise St / Tulsa vs Toledo double header than to have a national title shot hanging in the balance?

    7)  This brings our total to 8 teams, beginning their tournament on the 2nd weekend in December. That would mean that the "Final 4" would be played Christmas weekend. With the Championship game to be played the following week, New Years.

    8) As with the conference title games, the playoff games will all be played at former bowl game sites. You could even call them the Rose, Sugar, Orange, or whatever. And they could be rotated accordingly, if it means THAT much...

This year there are 29 bowl game sites. With my system, there would be 19.

My system gives the little guys a chance, and it makes every game MEAN something. It also gives us what we all want in the end, a true national champion.

    Your thoughts?

This is a lot of travelling. A team that qualifies for the conference title game would have to go this route:

    1 - Conference Title game

2 - Play in the Round of 8 game

3 - Round of Four game

    4 - National Championship.

I think you would also have a hard time convincing the fans to travel to that many games in the timeframe of a month or so. That gets expensive.

So, the second-place team in a conference - Michigan, for example - would get no bowl game but Houston would? I don't think the alum would go for this.

  6. The thing that irks me is that the Bucs have claimed to have a huge waiting list (over 100k, I think they say).  Where are these "football fans"?   :(

If these people want to see football, then they should get off their asses and come out to see a WINNING team in the same great facility.

$ for $, we get so much more enjoyment out our Bulls tickets than we do from our Bucs tickets.

  7. 1. Do you BULLieve USF "can" win 2morrow ?

    Yes!

    2. Where will you watch the game ?

    Selmon's.

    3. What will be the deciding goup in our victory; Offense, Defense or Special Teams ?

Offense. Do we get last week's offense, or the one that played in Cinci?

    4. At 7-3, are we at what you expected before the season?

I thought 8-2 at this point. Before the season started, I thought we could handle Rutgers and Cinci, but a Pitt loss.

    5. Do you even like Papa John's Pizza ?

Aye! Make mine with toasted Cardinal!  ;D
