  1. It's not about racism. It's obvious that he has African American players and coaches on the team. However, if some of the comments are proven to be true it speaks poorly about his character. BTW, why would a coach like Ferraro make something like this up...without evidence...or more than just he said she said? Part of me hopes its not true b/c I would hate to think that there are still ppl in positions of power that stool think and act like this...
  2. The post Auman days certainly lack the same depth and commitment to coverage.... Curious Why ESPN keep trotting McDouche out there every week as the guy has ZERO charisma on TV.
  3. "A group of reform-minded college professors..." He works for USF. He does not represent USF Do you seriously think he would be chairman of this committee if Judy was not on board? If so, you really don't get how these things work. That is why universities have tenure so faculty are protected if they have ideas that conflict with the administration or conventional opinion. While I don't doubt that Genshaft could have been aware before this became public it doesn't mean she is on board or she subscribes to this group's beliefs. Sure Glad you "understand"....

  5. 2006 vs McNeese State 2007 vs Elon 2008 vs Tennessee Martin 2009 vs Wofford 2011 vs FAMU 2012 vs Chattanooga 2013 vs McNeese State Must be hard to so closely follow two teams....
  6. Thank you for being the one online constant for Bulls fans through all these years.
  7. This is a performance for the ages that we will be talking about for years.
  8. People complain about the dumbest things....
  9. 1. It was all over the local paper, twitter and Facebook and I've seen it mentioned on several other teams message boards. 2. The whole thing was a nice gesture by the football team to help out incoming students. If the only reason they/Harlan did it was primarily for PR reasons then they are doing it for the wrong reasons. Honestly, USF fans should use all this energy to support our teams. Let's be honest, when 98.7 signed on to carry USF games they thought they were getting an up and coming football program that would get help their fledgling station grow . Instead, our former AD drove the program into the ground and ratings have been poor. The best way to shut up idiots like McFarland is to support our team and have our teams win.
  10. Any word on how many season tix we so,d this year?
  11. Raise your hand if you will miss playing Rutgers? Today was their last on campus event as a member of the BigEast/AAC. The next time one of their teams take the field they will have a B1G patch on their uniforms. I can't say I will miss playing them and we likely never have to hear about them again as somebody has to finish last in Big10.
  12. That is as solid and well sourced report as you can get nowadays....and IMO.....makes it a done deal unless Pearl does anything shady at the last minute. This is a great get for a variety of reasons. It gives some security at the PG position moving forward in case AC leaves after next season or gets hurt again. Sitting out a year will give him a chance to learn Coach' O's scheme and teammates and will challenge AC in practice. Lastly everything I've read about he kid discusses his high BIQ and competitiveness. Hopefully this kid will be a Marvin Taylor type of sign....without the legal problems.
  13. Giddins went through a lot during his time at USF ranging from barely making it into school, playing under three coaches and dealing with his mother's illness and untimely passing. Glad to see him get chance and hope he gets himself into peak shape so he can become that explosive edge rusher we all thought he could be when he could be for USF.
  14. PC? This isn't PC, this is a job description issue. With some liability issues thrown in too. "liability issues"? Really? Hans probably didn't use sound judgement when he tweeted that remark, but Lynch had been bad mouthing USF in subtly and often times no so subtly since he declared for the draft. Most of the times he was taking shots about strength and conditioning and it turns out that has lack of weight gain had nothing to do with Hans's staff but the drugs he was taking that are somehow considered illegal in the NFL but permissible in college. Lynch was essentially taking a shot at Hans's livelihood and reputation. Again, I am glad that he took it down but let's not turn Lynch into a victim.
  15. Nice job....when I saw his name I just shook my head a couple times. To be fair we have recruited the DT position fairly well...even with Lou Holtz's son....over the years. Plus, IIRC FSU was on him early until academic concerns made them go another direction.
  16. I don't get it. The two major sports are under going a transformation ... The Athletic Department itself is under going a transformation. Are you saying these changes shouldn't have been made? Why are you leaving NOW?? And I do agree with you wholeheartedly about the bragging about recruiting. It's great to do as a placebo in the offseason, especially after **** seasons but it means nothing until it translates into wins ... and Stan is apparently a perfect example of that. CWT has apparently done a great job of getting talent here but the proof will still be in the pudding. COA and gang are apparently working their asses off to get the talent here on a short notice but even when/if they do, it won't mean a thing until it produces wins. This is actually a pretty exciting time for USF Athletics, in a edge of your seat type way, so I really can't imagine walking away right now. Good stuff. In some way, being the underdog and fighting for respect is how I grew up being a Bulls fan. I saw way too many bandwagoners with a sense of entitlement during our Jim Leavitt salad days that made many fans think we were farther ahead than we were. In a way, as Brad is fond of saying, being ranked #2 in the country for that fleeting week may have been the worse thing that ever happened to this athletic program. It spoiled our fanbase who had no idea how fortunate we were to be in that position ....but it gave Woolard et al a false sense of security when in fact they really had nothing to do with that great start to the 2007 season. They were the ones that sat on their hands and threw away the gift of BCS status we were given. Just about every Woolard hire has been a flaming disaster. I don't count Coach Taggart b/c by 2012 Woolard was put on notice and was not really his decision to fire Lou's son. However....other folks can do what they want.....I am not going anywhere.
  17. You are really going to quit on the Bulls because half the team was apparently a bunch of soft quitters. I will keep supporting them but right now I feel more embarrassed for anyone that was supporting the Stan Heath regime. After seeing how many and how fast these guys are quitting I think the decision to fire him was 100 percent justified, and I am excited to see what kind of USF BULLS that Antigua can bring in. So just curious. If you're a die harder since 1984, why did you wait until March, 2014 to become a member of TBP? You can ask Brad about my track record. You wouldn't be DaveG as the DaveG who ran the old rivals site....heh? Big loss to USF fandom if it's true....or actually...big loss for USF if any fan since 1984 decides to give up. Either way....it's not easy being Green nowadays. Thanks Doug!
  18. Hmmmmm......not sure about the competition in that video and he seems to take every shot.
  19. Reading things like this piss me off. Jordan is an outstanding representative of USF, a good student and a hard worker. USF offered him a scholarship and he has done everything and more asked of him. He has not been wasting a scholarship, and to say that of one of our student athletes is very poor form, in my opinion. Not being privy to the lockerroom and practices, I can't speak for Jordan, but in general my take is as follows: Someone was seen with potential and was offered and accepted a schollie. It is now your JOB to make sure they live up to their potential. If they have ... ... the right attitude (gung ho, team player, not prima donna) and ... ... work ethic (early to every practice, running drills full speed with effort, accepts criticism and works to get better) ... ... and they are still unable to produce at the level needed to crack the starting lineup, then that's on YOU, not the player, and you honor the schollie throughout their eligibility. You NEVER pull a schollie from someone simply because you now have a chance to land a better player. The corollary of this is that if a player has a bad attitude, they can be poison, and should know their schollie can be pulled. Unless the original evaluation was wrong and the old staff misjudged the player's ability to develop....especially in the old BigEast. It wouldn't be the first time a USF coach missed on a player....see Skip Holtz. Greta kids.....but many of his players were the not high level BCS quality players we used to get with Leavitt.

  21. Amen. Hoping some of our Bullspen ex-pats will come home.
  22. It's only a couple of people Unfortunately, they seem to be the loudest of the bunch and the ones that pose as Bulls fans on the WDAE 620AM and take cheap shots at everything and anything USF related. One "hardcore USF fan" called yesterday and said that USF would that it doesn't matter that Antigua is a great recruiter because USF "would NEVER sign any Top 100 recruits". Really? Considering Stan Heath had a Top 25 signing class with two Top 100 guys that guy was pretty clueless.
  23. Great find! Now please forward this to our new A.D.! That is all Ty Tweet the link to Harlan
  24. After the last week, I am trying not to get too excited about anyone but....reason number 1,055 why I would love this hire: FIBA/European connections. For USF it would be fantastic if we can expand our talent pool to find those hidden gems/fallen through the cracks euro-players. If we can find another Dobras to complement our young and talent front court it would force AAC teams to play us honest for a change.
