so you just want to restrict free trade. got it.

    maybe capitalism isn't your thing.

it may not be perfect but it's the best economic system we have.

BTW our basketball team benefited greatly from the ability to get a coach and multiple transfers this year.

The system worked in our favor and now that it has people are complaining that some players are moving on. Guess what? they left their last place to come here.

Capitalism?  Free Trade?  National economic systems?  You set yourself up as the only fair person, laugh at the rest of us hypocrites, and then pivot to national economic philosophy?  We're talking about college football, just as a reminder.

These are not your best posts.  Put the shovel down.  The hole is just getting deeper.

if it's biting their customers then eventually it will bite them. I find it funny that everyone has a problem with the players trying to get a cut but nobody ever had a problem with coaches, schools or athletic directors etc chasing the dollars.

Actually, a lot of us had a problem with coaches being able to transfer without sitting out a year.  It just never occurred to us to ruin our sports programs over it.  I guess we are the dumb ones.

  3. I have been watching our performances in Track and Field.  Get that mile relay team up on the line as four wide receivers.  Our Track team is actually very good.  Too bad it's not a revenue sport.  More people would be excited about it!

When it is time to talk coaching extensions, Jenkins would be one I'd look at.

Overall, Jenkins has coached seven conference freshmen of the year, 26 conference most outstanding performers, and guided his teams to 183 individual and 24 relay championships since 2008. As well as the 2024 men’s conference championship.

In addition, Jenkins has coached 238 NCAA preliminary participants, 123 NCAA final participants and 88 All-Americans. In addition to his NCAA success, Jenkins has also coached five Olympic Trials qualifiers, four World Championship qualifiers, and two Olympians.

If the NFL is willing to play ball after all this time it means they are starting to get nervous. The NCAA should try to undercut the NFL and keep kids in their prime athletic years in college and start paying them. They have more dedicated fan bases in college and they should use this advantage over the NFL.

Imagine if kids coming out of college were between 25-28 instead of 22? The NFL would basically become the senior tour. They would have to eventually develop their own minor league system that would compete with CFB driving up costs and potentially cutting their ad deals if they start to decline because of age of players\loss of viewership.

Hadn't thought of that.  Pretty good insight as far as the age thing goes.  They'll never let that happen.
