  3. actually the only four bowl games in the history of army football
  4. you can theoretically spend as much time as a you want at a prep school like hargrave or fork union without having it start your eligibility clock because unlike a JUCO, you are not earning any college credit and the football you are playing is not affiliated with the NCAA or NJCAA. some guys stay for two years because they aren't satisfied with their offers and want to improve their stock, and some stay until they can get a high enough test score to be an NCAA qualifier. here's a bio of one of UNC's safeties who did this exact same thing. he spent two years at fork union then went on to be a four year starter at UNC. you can see he was 24 years old as a senior. http://tarheelblue.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/taylor_kareen00.html
  5. not so fast my friend http://www.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/stories/071906aai.html http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/sec/2006-07-19-kentucky-violations_x.htm "The NCAA is pretty strict: There's four people who are allowed to have contact with a recruit, and those are the coaches on the basketball staff."
  6. tell matt to take his time and let grant have spring ball.
  7. ok, i'll settle this.... i was at the football offices the other day looking at players official heights and weights measured by the strength and conditioning staff.  grothe is right at 6'0" tall with no shoes on and weighed in at 200 lbs at the end of the summer, and i believe 194 at the end of the regular season.  he's not daunte culpepper or anything, but the guy isn't a rail, he's spent some time in the weight room. some guys sizes on the roster are dead on, some guys weights and/or heights are really inflated and a few are deflated.
  8. brian kelly has no obligation to do anything further for that program. this is the right way to do it. for brian kelly, his top priorities are getting UC prepared for their bowl game and recruiting the best class he can to UC despite a late start. why would CMU want him to coach their bowl game anyway....he's now the cincinnati head coach. he has no legal, moral or ethical reasons to do anything at all for CMU. you're either the CMU head coach or the UC head coach, not both. try googling bo schembechler and "michigan man"
  9. i'll be there....only a three and a half hour drive for me.
  10. i emailed the bigeast.org website about it on monday and got this response within a matter of hours.... Hi Tate, You are indeed correct that they should be listed that way - but we ultimately do not take those tiebreakers into account until the end of the season when all of the games have been played. Right now, they are listed alphabetically by school. Thanks for your email - and your attention to detail! Ben
  11. tell me, what would think of the level of play in a game producing the following numbers..... 5 fumbles 1130 yards 60 first downs 79 combined points 200 yards rushing by a QB in a "gimmick" spread offense relying heavily on a finesse/zone read running game. in case you were wondering that game was played january 4, 2006 between texas and usc.
  12. in the Kansas and Rutgers losses combined USF has gone a combined 0 for 1 on fourth down attempts, with the one attempt being on the opening drive against kansas. gotta love well-researched articles.
